Description
Long ago, in an epic battle of might, King Phelios defeated the Vampire King Duzell. And as both lay dying, Duzell swore that his reincarnation would find King Phelios' reincarnation and exact his revenge. A hundred years later, the moment of reincarnation has arrived...the only problem is that Duzell has been reincarnated as a harmless house cat. And to add to his frustration, he can't find the reincarnation of King Phelios. Luckily, he has been adopted by Phelios' granddaughter, the teenage princess Ishtar, through whom Duzell may be able to track down who in the Phelios tribe is host...

it was a pretty good manga. the characters were so lovable. I JUST LOVE DUZIE!!! i also love yuugin. overall it was good but it still had some faults. it could have been shorter, the romance kind of sucked (cus there wasn't much in it), but the thing that bothered me the most was that the mangaka could of made ishtar fight. she had a strong personality and i just loved her throughout the entire thing but i would of loved her more if she knew how to fight. but once again the overall manga was good
a really interesting story that kept me reading it in one goXD with a lot of lovable characters

at first i didn't like the ending at all but I realized that it wasen't so bad ^^ well for most parts is's a little bit better than average manga which shouldn't get a 10 ...
the thing is that when Duzell died I just thought "oh"..so thats it? and didn't feel anything but the last page changed this absence of feelings...it was really moving!!!

. There were alot of loose ends, but I think the mangaka might have left those up to our imagination. I think we all know how it generally ended. Spoiler (highlight to view)
I think Yuujin must have been Phelios's reincarnation, his appearance and personality (maybe other than his womanizing) matched. What I was sort of confused about was that Duzie said he knew who it was, but I don't really think he hinted about it being Ishtar (and we know in the end it wasn't).. but then Sharlen said it was Ishtar for most of the manga..I don't understand why he would have just been wrong. But anyway maybe the main point of the story is that the reincarnation really didn't matter after all.
I didn't like it. The story was jumping from one event to another with a horrible pace. I was hoping for the author to execute it better, then perhaps I would give a higher score.
I didn't like any of the characters either. Surely, there were dark and mysterious ones but still. Most were typical.

I LOVE DUZIE!!!!!!!!!!!! <3333 He is soooo cute! ^_^
They rushed the ending though, I was super pissed about that T_T but the overall story was really good! Maybe a bit more romance was needed between Deris and Ishtar, but that's it pretty much.

Nice try as for shojo genge to do some decent story & characters. But is it shojo after all, with every wall, hiding readers from realistic behaviour and development of introduced characters. By the way, characters introduction was made quite nicely. But after it, they begin to act more and more weird: vampire "lost theeth", princes acts as jester half the time, lots of pretty boys, words over swords, "bulldogs games under mats" (more like "bullcats" 
), lamely implemented BL tips, rushed ending. All that actually was required for manga to stay inside shojo genre (I can explain why, but it will take too much space),
but it also made story shallow and predictable (at least, for me).

Lol there was definitely some confusing parts but it was a good manga.

I liked how Ishtar and Duzzie met as owner and cat haha. If only they were meant to be with each other.. I wonder if she actually gave birth to the reincarnations of Phelios and Duzzell..

wahhh!!~ i just finished this cool manga!! i think i love it!! uwahh...as ive said its got everything...magic, fantasy, castle war, sword fighting, guys with long hair, BL <which im not a huge fan of...>, hot sorcerers, killer punchlines and even vampires <again im not a fan>...but seriosly...even though it was named Vampire Game...the vampire plot is not the center of the story which makes it pretty much unique...well when i say unique...well i havent seen Duzell being all emotic and trying to hold back at drinking Ishtar's blood or some other bishies or a random guys...
at first i dont want ot read this because at first i thought that this was one of those mangas in which the princess is a very weak and whiny person and then she gets kidnapped and rescued and the raped by the person who saved her..<well what do you expect?? people put a damn MATURE tag up there>...anyways...Ishtar is the exact opposite...i mean the girl is wielding a sword while wearing a gown and she can compete with Vord in a drinking contest...and she isnt some golden hearted bitch!! which i totally love about her! she isnt mary sue!! i love the imperfections...
which brings me to the guys...i dont really like Darres that much...i think that for the heroines mai love interest hes a tad bit boring...but that makes him Ishtar's type so i guess thats why it worked out...hmmm...but i would prefer Duzell over him anyday! <even though he is kindda gay? i think>...but i really love him hes just so cute especially when he said:
"holding Ishtar's hand in the moonlight, is one of those moments tha you wish could last forever and for a vampire, forever is a very long time...'"
yeah...i love the cheesy and witty line that gets thrown in at times...
sighs...i dont really want this to end because i really want to see more of their kingdoms but alas! it has to end...i am not to satisfied with the ending...its sad....and i dont see much after the ending and i think that it was pretty much rushed...i dont even see Ishtar weeping and i mean the characters death didnt even made me sad...so thats why i cant give it a 10 even though i liiiiiiike very, very much...
i could go on and on about this and that and the things that i still want to see but...i think i should stop now...

Quite enjoyable and funny, even if there were a few loose ends...
Still, even if we accepted the ending, I would have liked to see rather more of what happens after - a chapter or two on the twins, say... we just barely get to see them in the postscript! Surely this isn't just my favouritism for Duzell speaking...!

I thought the end was rather wierd... I mean... Duzie didn't have to use the La Gamme spell... even weakened and unable to use other holy spells he was still the vampire king right? Surely he'd kick ass on one single human... and just why would Phelios, of all people, sleep with a vampire? Why would the vampire sleep with him!? And why does Diaage hate Duzell so much that she'd sacrifice herself to be made into a sword just to kill him!? ... and her promise never does get kept - Sharlen got killed before Phelios got reincarnated O_o Which leads us to the question - why couldn't Sharlen simply control the king instead of possessing him in such a fashion he'd be killed when the king committed suicide!?
Still, even if we accepted the ending, I would have liked to see rather more of what happens after - a chapter or two on the twins, say... we just barely get to see them in the postscript! Surely this isn't just my favouritism for Duzell speaking...!

This manga has really weird looking characters, yet...memorable. My favorite characters were Illsaide, Void, and Laphiji. This manga also has a weird story; it jumps a lot and most of the events aren't even important. Ishtar is independent but very annoying and snobby;

I hated the ending. It was stupid how Ishtar gave birth to two cat demons. Did she get screwed by Duzzel before Duzzel dies? So confusing. That's not believeable anymore.
