From Psycho Pandas:
"I have something I don't want to lose. So much so that these terrible feelings have grown."
A pianist who attempted suicide 3 times, Juri, is taken to help her aunt at a prison where murderers who killed indiscriminately are sentenced to death. There, she meets a man named Yuu who took the lives of 3 people. A mother's antagonism--a brother's death. Together they embrace the violent rebellion in their hearts caused by the large, deep scars they carry. However, before long, they both embrace an earnest hope in their hearts. "I want to live."

A story that makes you think

I'm not going to write a long summary, because that would ruin the whole story. But I will write that this manga is sad, that it's beautiful, that I cried at the ending and that I cried pretty much through the whole Manga when I understood where the story was leading, and I will also write that I haven't read something as touching as this for a long while.
Read it, just do.
Read it, just do.

I think Mizu-sensei has actually improvised on the original work. I haven't read the original novel, but the movie had a storyline quite a bit different from this manga, though based on the same theme. In my opinion this improvisation has made the storyline much much better and realistic. A salute to both Mizu-sensei and Ji-young-sensei for developing such an amazing story.

I love this story.
The characters have nice development and it's one of the very few tragedies to actually bring me to tears. To add on to this, I've actually reread it and feel the same emotions each time.
I highly recommend it.

I've had this manga on my list for a while now and since I see it mentioned in many places and it's received great ratings, I decided to read it already. But it was a disappointment. The art is good and the story is ok, but it didn't make me cry like they promised nor did it leave any kind of deep feeling once I finished it. I liked it - but I don't think it's worth what everyone says it is.
It grabs your heart and squeezes it really painfully

Even after finishing reading this, tears are still flowing down my face. Well, I knew what I was getting myself into. And still, I can't help imagining what their pain must have felt like. All my problems seem so insignificant in comparison.
Since this is an adaptation from a novel, there's no point in giving a thorough critique on the manga. The plot was well executed. The characters were amazing. Especially the prison guard guy. He's my hero.
Well, that's all I wanted to say in this incoherent and emotional review of mine.

I was hoping that Yuu's sentence would be taken back, but in my heart I knew that he was going to die.
It's not every day that you can read something so painfully deep and beautiful. There's still some point

I love it but some point...
People with horrible life like Yuu but still keep sensitive, caring character like that is specially rare...
Maybe the author forget about the world of law, you can hire a lawyer, right? There's a chance that the case will be reopened, death sentence can be avoided with many ways like metal problems, etc,... Inoue with relationships can find a way. The problem is "does he wanna live with all the hatred of the victims when reopen the case".... I thought death sentence is really serious but it's not sth that can't be avoided like sickness specially when you can prove that you change or it's just an accident

It was sad.
I thought the girl would commit suicide after his death sentence.
I don't like the part where she forgave her mother ['ya know..the pain lingers] BUT since it's the writer's style to make a good ending..I just had to deal with it.

It is a very beautiful story, and will be one of the stories that will probably stay in my heart as long as I live. I agree with @Caedis about the death sentence! I know it's unavoidable, but when I was reading it, I sincerely hoped that he could be free... It's just so sad.
