Description

The story revolves around Tsukune Aono, a boy who accidentally gets enrolled in a school inhabited by monsters and demons. He quickly befriends Moka Akashiya, a vampire who soon develops an obsession with his blood, and later meets other girls who soon take a romantic liking to him.

Well drawn, tons of ecchi, sold tons of copies. The anime is also animated gorgeously and has a great ost. It is a masterpiece according to the paying clients. Everybody else does not matter.

This manga doesn't have anything new, a usual harem with some minor ecchi, action and supernatural stuff. However, i can't tell why but i'm in love with this manga. Maybe cause the story doesn't rush in any point. Ok i'm not english native so it will be hard for me to explain sorry if i mess up.

In other mangas seems like the characters growth up in power in a matter of seconds like "omg i'm losing again my stronger enemy but since he tried to kill the girl i love a misterious power growth in me with no reason and i can beat him easy now" if you know what i mean, most of the times the autor gives an explanation later of this hidden power but still...
But in this one you can see how and why the characters growth up, the scars on Tsukunes body are a proof of it, at least it's how it looks to me.

As i said, nothins new under the sky with this manga in terms on argument or genre but how the history go on has really mesmerized me, you can understand how and why the caracters become strong but btw take in mind i'm reading the Season II so i'm talking from a more ample perspective. The art is good but how this guy draw the face expresions is really awesome for me.

I'll give it a 8 but for sure it isn't a objetive rating cause is like this manga was done just for me, like if i told to the author what i want and how. In fact i was about to rate it with a 9 but since the first season is a little repetitive and doesn't shows so much of the plot will leave it with a 8. But for sure if season II has a good ending will get a 10 from me. Of course it's my opinion...

I though it was a pretty good manga. A lot of what happens is repetitive so its pretty easy to guess whats going to happen next. It lacks the romance I was expecting it to have. Hopefully season 2 improves.

Liked this.Story and plot is quite interesting when you give it some time, and dont judge it to be cr¤p after first couple chapters. For loosecannon504's dictionary lenghed complain, Id just answer that manga crew tried to make characters more humane. Considering that it falls to those listed genres, you most likely wont find guts ripped open and heads impale to stakes..

If you like mild echi and humor seasoned romance/action manga with high variation of personalities and tastes, I suggest you to read. If you are after absolute fast moving blood/gore/gunfight etc etc etc as well as each and every page filled with bare skin and such, I wouldnt deeply consider to have 10/10 worthy enjoyment.

i like it.
its fun and original, however if you are looking for a philosophical examination of the interation between humans and monsters representing... well whatever
this probably isnt for you.
also,
the "defeated" character who comes back was never made out to be dead by any stretch of the imagination, and it is completely plausible as well as probable that he would return at some point.

It starts off bad. It actually seems like the mangaka thought this would end soon so he didnt put a lot of effort in it. Good thing though that it grows a lot as the chapters go. By season two the writing gets sooo much better.
Character development sucks though. The author develops the two main characters, leaves the rest at superficial level, and with that destroys possible tensions between the characters.
Though even with some flaws and lack of development, I really love this manga. It's one of those reads thats not exactly a masterpiece, but thats very enjoyable.

Seriously, I had high hopes for Rosario+Vampire, seeing as everyone raves about it, but found it extremely disappointing. The characters are weak, and all of them have basically the same background story, and I didn't find any of them even remotely likeable, especially the main, Tsukune, who is devoid of personality.
It is ridiculously repetitive. Basically the same story every chapter with different 'villains', although I use the word villains loosely, as no matter how powerful they are they are instantly deafeated by the 'most powerful of all supernatural beings' the super vampire, basically created for the story by the mangaka, and conveniently there to save Tsukune every time he goes and tries to fight anyone. Which, incidentally, only causes more problems for Moka and the gang. Who never really form real relationships, lets face it. They just stay together due to general unpopularity with the rest of the student body.
One thing that REALLY annoyed me, when the lame fire fox decides to bring about justice, how come he uses a tip-off from a JAILED EX-TEACHER/CHILD MURDERER? What a hypocrite. And how did he suddenly arrive at the conclusion that it wouldn't be a problem to publicly execute the whole club?
The romance is awful too, Tsukune loves Moka based on her looks really. And he remains a pervert throughout.
Don't read it. Whoever told you it was a great read, was likely a moron, because I could have gotten the gist of the story if I had been reading it unconscious.
loosecannon504 said everything I was thinking. Read that comment, it's easily the most useful of all of them.

Twas a good story. Very hot vamp chick. Hot succubus. I am not a lolicon so the witch is out. Hot snow princess. Oh really hot S&M teacher. Hot neko-homeroom teacher. heh. Now I need to read again to get the actual written story out of it.

Forget about the ecchi factor here, the plot and story in season 1 is very good. It starts slowly but really picks up the pace at the end and is hard to stop reading during the final chapters. I would definitely recommend reading this one for a funny, change of pace, and still a touch of romantic read.

disappointing and weak

I read this manga due to it's overwhelming popularity and people's description of it. I was sadly disappointed. At a glance it is visually appealing, but a closer looks reveals that this applies to only character design. The art used in the fight scenes is very redundant and the fights themselves are quite boring, making me wonder if it is an action manga in name only. In addition, the female characters always appear to be in some ridiculous stance at least once per page.

In terms of storyline and character development, it is also weak. The story premise is ridiculous given the information provided in the recent arc (as of volume 8 chapter 32). It tries to address mature themes such humans and their effect on nature, but overall it fails as the antagonists never hold out on their perspective, having changes of heart in the end. The main character is a typical shounen goodhearted-loyal-to-friends kid with a harem. What makes him weak though is that he cannot back up his words on his own without depending on others (i.e. his harem) to do the job. The female protagonists would be standard cliche harem characters, who vie for the main character's attention, lacking any real individual personality that makes them unique. Where this manga really fails is with the antagonists, which IMO makes a manga, especially an action shounen manga such as this one, either good or bad. Every antagonist so far is unable to complete any objective they have, primarily because the protagonists are overwhelmingly powerful, relatively speaking. In addition, most of the antagonists have no conviction in their perspective, with some of them being sweet talked into a change of heart, thus leading Tsukune (main character) into thinking that he can sweet talk everyone into not being "evil." Thus far, no antagonist's actions have caused a direct change in any of the protagonists daily life whatsoever. Overall, a cliche shounen harem manga that tries and fails to incorporate mature themes into a weak storyline with weak characters.
