The premise of the story starts off interesting. Artwork is also pretty but a little inconsistent. I felt like the artist was trying to experiment with aesthetics. Not a big fan of FL since her logic sometimes makes no sense. "Oh, scary person that wanted to hurt me? Yea, let's follow 'em into their room without any preparations." *facepalms* But the relationship between the two leads is completely forced. You pretty much see little to no development and then they're all of a sudden so in love. ML has split personalities, I'm sure. Cause he treats Apple completely different, depending on his identity. Ending was also very rushed, with it feeling like the problems were swept under the rug and the author calling it a day.

I was pleasantly surprised by the plot. It's unique and draws you in - I couldn't stop reading all night. The situation of the female lead is interesting, too. She's a noble working as a lady-in-waiting to a mysterious woman who manipulated her way into her family in order to take part in a deadly race to become crown princess.

The female lead is very likeable, but there's one thing that I just hated about this story. The male lead. I know he has his problems, but it's hard to like a character who gets away with being a jerk so much. And it's made all the more annoying by how willingly the female lead forgives him without him even saying sorry. He has circumstances, yes, but with the way things go between them I just feel like he doesn't deserve to get her in the end.

I honestly don't care what justifications are laid out for male leads like this. You don't treat people like that. I think I've read too many webcomics where the male leads get away with making the female lead miserable just because they have issues.

In here,the fl is charming and ml is damn hot and they are perfect for each other,and Fl seems original not clingy type, she's loyal to Her sis Rose despite knowing they're not blood related,Loved the story a lot.A great recommend to fantasy/historical plot lovers.
