at first i was shocked how bloody the manga is but after just reading it i got sucked into it
the main character is very realistic, selfish and simple-minded
after couple of arks i began to like him very much, his badassness and all that monster killing
my advice is just not think abt the manga too much, the picture burns into your brain and hauts you at night loll 300-ish chapter are chapters i really like, you can skip chapters and start reading then 😉

It feels like the mangaka dont really know/understand how humans interact
alot of weird conversations

after 100s of ppl die...no1 cares
[if my child...even if she is17 wanted to go at night after 50cops,100s ppl got killed just the other week with no explenations or anything]...i would not let her go out
school just continues 1 day after a whole class gets killed
characters learn how to use their suits without explenations
as soon as a girl have "weird" sex...she is going to die
characters get long backstory just to die a chapter later
silly godawful shitbucket vampires
and all the pinup pics
the only good think is that the MC looks alot like Kyo from KOF did back when SNK still could draw

hmm now when i think about it...japanese ppl might not get scared when lunatics run around
the akiba knife murderer the other year was obviously dangerous...yet ppl just loled in a got stabbed
and then after when tv shows up...idiot ppl stand around laughing and waving at the camera
so maybe the mangaka gets japanese...and its me that dont understand the way the japanese mind work

I just started reading because a friend of mine was going on and on about it...this and deadman wonderland. Anyway I've gotten through the first volume and the story isn't bad...what i want to know is how do they get hit by a train and there heads fall off. I could understand it really if one head fell off but both, isn't that a bit extreme. I know it's a manga and that's okay but that was weird, very.

This is a real good story, I can assure you that in case you're reading like, 10 first vols and still wonder why you read it. But why this story is strange? I think it's because, no manga would have it REAL climax revealed after 300 chapters. Man what if I didn't have the will to stick with the manga 'till this point O.O? I bet many would give up reading this after a dozen volumes and really miss the great story. But that's the mangaka's fault =v=.

I hate manga were loads of innocent people die for the sake of plot. It's cheap. Around chapter 130 there's a mass killing which really is bad taste. I'll keep reading since it was interesting up 'till now, but let that be a fair warning.

Can I just say that this is one of the best action mangas Ive ever read. This is coming from a person who mostly likes romantic shoujo.yeaaaahh. Can you believe that? I went from reading stuff like Kimi ni Todoke to Gantz. Tells you just how good this manga is.

So in the first... half... or so of Gantz, the one thing that comes to mind when is "Holy cow, the protagonist is a pervert!" And he is... and not in the comedic played-for-laughs way, either. And could the girl he likes be any more useless? Masaru is really the only decent person in this bit.

However, lots of Character Development happens around, say,chapter 140 or so, and Kurono graduates from being a total butthead to... maybe about 20% butthead. You really begin enjoying the story around this point. Before, it was just an 'okay' manga, with great action and a shallowness rating of 10, but around here, the protagonists kick butt and take names, and it's amazing.

Unfortunately, it later devolves into this really strange alien-invasion story (not like it wasn't one in the first place, so I don't feel like I'm really spoiling anything), and some of the fights are truly interminable. The sheer scale of it makes it hard to tell what's going on. Toward the end of about 300 chapters, you start wishing it would be over already.

To sum it up, in the first 100 chapters, the main characters mostly think with their hormones. In the second, it's a great story. And in the last 100, you start skipping chapters.

Action, Gore, Romances, Ugly aliens, Unpredictability, and a lot more stuff make up this manga.
The anime follows the manga, more or less and the first part of the live-action movie follows the manga loosely, but the second part sucks! it an original ending.
