i finish this in less than 6hours. this reminds me of harry potter where i absolutely felt the need to finish from cover to cover non stop, that's how engrossing it is. i cannot believe people followed this week to week, it must be especially painful to them!
first my heart thump from the sweetness of the romance, then my heart beat faster for the thrill of danger, then my heart nearly burst with the unexpected revelation! i cannot say more of it will ruin the experience, but really read this if you are a fan of original story.
It starts out sweet, then descends into a twisting turning plot that will draw you in and make you read it until the end. It is simply a perfect example of an amazing webcomic. As some below me have said though, DO NOT READ SPOILERS, this is an amazing story and reading spoilers would take some of the fun out of reading it.
I really loved this story, but I feel like a few reviews here didn't give the story enough credit. Without spoiling anything, a major theme of the manhwa is the multitude of ways love stories can go - hopeful or hopeless, bittersweet or straight-up sweet, straightforward or convoluted, etc.
How does the author show this? By switching genres mid-story, multiple times. That isn't remarkable by itself; but it's remarkable that he makes it work, and work well.
Warning: This webcomic is not what it appears to be. It is both a horror story and a love story.
To be honest, I felt like I had been tricked by the authors. The story wasn't at all what I was expecting, and a lot of potential was given up for the plot twists and freaky nature of some of the characters. There was so much drama that it pretty much broke through my willing suspension of belief. The psychological aspect was also handled fairly unrealistically. It was disappointing, but the ending kind of makes up for it (at least the main character managed to stay consistent). Despite all its flaws, the story was still fairly engrossing (hey, I read all the way to the end), so I'd recommend it if you like mysterious, twisty horror/love stories. xD
In TV Tropes terms, this whole story is a case of What the Heck, Heroine?
I really do not know how to express the feeling I had when i read the last chapter of this manhwa. It was something so great, so tense... Really, you should read it and enjoy it. There are few manga/manhwas that may give you chills and even make you shed a manly tear. I meant it!
One part sugary sweet, one part sour, one part bittersweet, and one part spicy.
Male lead is dynamic in a low fantasy setting. Female lead is the mysterious beauty. Well-written with common continuity throughout the series. Full-color is a plus and adds to the flavor. Interesting, but not unexpected twists will make you keep reading until the end.
Artwork is well-done as expected in a full-color manhwa.
Romantic melodrama at its finest.
Everything about Melo Holic is exciting. especially the starting few chapters. From its plot to its humour and including the great twists :-)
I really dont want to make it a spolier...
So in general-
'It's awesome'....
Do yourself a favor, DON'T read any spoilers/comments on this series...just start reading and force yourself through the first 10 chapters or so...from there it gets very...interesting
(warning: not for the faint at heart...also, if you're a scaredy-cat (like me Dx) don't read it at 1am >__<)
It’s about a man whose never experienced love because of his inherent power. As strange as it seems, he does have a supernatural power. One day, he is finally able to experience the whole romantic evolution of love through attraction, confession, rejection, hope, and etc. However, once he finally dates the woman he loves, he ends up getting thrown into the middle of the woman’s extra baggage—i.e. her grief over her dead boyfriend, a stalker, her family, and etc.
At first, the main character is heart wrenching pitiful towards the concept of love, but he later gets really manly when he tries to protect the woman he loves. I can also sympathize with why he is the way he is because of his powers. It’s hard building any type of relationship, whether it is friend or lover w/ his type of powers.
The scanlation hasn’t caught up to the raws yet, so I took a peek at the rest of them since chapter 22 ends on a suspenseful cliff hanger. It’s a pretty series, and it’s interesting reading a romance from the male’s POV. I also enjoyed the artwork as well.
