I came from the OVA before reading the manga. The story is very interesting but very complex and complicated which can leave the reader confused espicallh with the dealing with the topic of actually having kids with either gender and animals. A lot of it is pretty much mini stories with each getting their side stories on how they fell in love male of female. I wouldn’t say shojo as even Shonen and other genres have this kind of thing it it. I wish we would get more development from the second couple that was introduced in the story and the main couple in the OVA as I find there story the best.

Typical Shoujo manga in yaoi theme...waste of new story idea...

Wtf with this yaoi manga, the uke acting like girl in shoujo weak and pitiful and have no self respect, and the seme is cruel selfish and self center, the love between them is so disgusting, besides the uke couldn't hold himself to gather for even a day,as a time, to give the seme good lesson to reflect, and what with is change of heart by the seme in less than a day! And he didn't get jealous from the soul prison ceremony, but get jealous from small act!? Wth
And what's with multiple male couples over the story? No rare female madara? It was so boring and overacting...
This manga began with good comedy and good new story, but the development and progress of the main characters was suck!!Drop it and deleted it...was truly waste of time.

Very interesting but a bit confusing

Honestly I really don't know where to stand with this one. It has a very in depth, developed and ambitious universe with lots of side characters and interlinked stories. As mentioned below I do think that the best way to consider this is to see it as it's own universe with characters living in it rather than a linear story. And I have to say that i think that this story has maybe the most confusing family tree I've come accross...
On one side there is a lot of interesting concept and ideas in there (ideas about gender, love, family structures, parenthood... and even some spiritual thinking) but I feel that they are not always developed as fully as they could have or sometimes they are developed but in a very confusing, blurry way and so they are not always easy to grasp.
Another thing is that there is a lot of stereotypes and tropes you commonly see in BL pieces here but a good portion of them are in a way or another kind of subverted. The problem is that another portion of them are not, they are just reproduced and so it gives the whole manga a strange ambiguous tone.
One exemple : the idea of family and particularly the nuclear family structure seem to be quite different among the non-monkeys humans and lots of characters have or had multiple relationships with different partners at some point but still jealousy and extreme possessiveness are still a BIG thing in a way that often seems to be a bit exaggerated in a society that seems to be more permissive in terms of family structures...
In the later volumes it almost feels like the story has ran out of the author's control with things going everywhere and nowhere at the same time instead of focusing in developing the existing characters and actually going somewhere.

An onlsaught of too many diffrent couples!

This was good, but I felt that as I went I would have apreciated the manga more if it stopped introducing more characters into the story so fast because it became a little confusing to me. I would have preferred it to have touched on some of the other characters stories more in depth, then went on an introduced mew characters, then re-touching on some of the precious ones so it wasn't so predictable that after one couples story there would be an entirely diffrent one...
Overall, after the story of
Tsuburaya Norio × Madarame Kunimasa
Madarame Yonekuni × Fujiwara Shiro (Shirou)
After their stories ended I found myself really disinterested with the rest of the new couples that the author tried to weave in. I was really disappointed when I kept reading thinking that there would be another segment in the manga that re-touched on their story, but sadly, never happened.
In the end, I mostly started to skim the manga after that and from time to time read the sections that seemed intresting. I really got fed up in all the other characters, especially Karen Tokashiki, Manami Madarame.

I stopped reading after ch 44.

I like this, I guess from volume 1 to 4 but now the story is just getting longer.... confusing. I've read the volume 8 and 9 (bought the digital) I'm sorry to say but I'm not satisfied. TT_TT
Too many characters that I can't count anymore. TT_TT
Though, Hoping for a good ending.

The earlier volumes, 1&2, and maybe 3, are so much better, it gets more confusing as the story progress. Read up till vol. 8 now and

the main couple still haven't done it
, so this might be called slow romance?

However, other couples have done it, plus with multiple partners too. Monogamous is almost, or even, none existing in this manga

Good, intricate and can be confusing

I think one of the important ways to approach this manga is to consider it like a series of interconnected stories. There is some plot that slowly develops and quite a bit of world-building, but the majority is divided between many different couples and depicts their love stories. It does take a bit of work to remember every character's name, but if you don't try too hard, for the most part you can follow along with the current pairing's story and you'll just miss out on some cameo mentions and appearances.

I liked the art for the most part. It actually had a bit of an older vibe to it and since I like the BL style from the 90s it's not surprising I like this. Then again, I've read a LOT of BL of all kinds of styles and there are many styles I like far less so it could also be that. I'd say give it a chance to grow on you and hopefully it will.

As for the world, I thought this story has an interesting world built up. Animal souls and gay pregnancies, secret societies and strength classes - the mangaka obviously put a lot of thought into it. On the flip side, there's a lot for the reader to put to memory so if you're just looking for a light romance, this one probably requires too much thinking! Also, sometimes I felt very confused by where the story was going and just had to read through before I understood what exactly was going on, which seems to be due to the mangaka having such an intricate plot and not quite playing it out as easily as it should've been for an audience who doesn't have all the background knowledge on the story. That's mostly where I deducted points from my rating.

Basically, this is not an easy-to-read BL and don't get into it thinking it will just be the romance of the original protagonist. There are multiple protagonists and love stories throughout, connected mostly through a particular family. If the supernatural elements or world sound interesting to you, by all means consider picking this one up.

Oh, and can I just say
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
the motif of "See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" to define the relationship between 'normal' people and the madararui is ingenious and comical at the same time!

The art was terrible at first, but it has been gradually better and more gorgeous (& hot). The story is intersting, too. Personally, I think this is the best in the ABO (alpha/beta/omega) yaoi genre. However, I found the latest couple (the oldest brother x the mermaid) rather confusing. I hope the manga will be continued soon this year or next year.

Interesting manga

I don't get why some people are rating it 3/10 even when they said they liked it. 3/10 is a shit mark, something I'd give to a really shitty manga with bad art and bad story. Anyways.

Sex Pistols' story's at least fairly interesting, especially with the animal stuff, which isn't something you'd usually find in BL. Yes, there's cliche troupes, and mpreg isn't unique per-se, but I've been reading yaoi for 10 years now and I've actually never seen another serious m-preg yaoi before (where it's not fetishized), only in fan-fiction. There are also a lot of characters and pairings so if you get confused easily, this probably isn't the manga for you.

Personally I love the style. The artist knows anatomy well and the poses are natural and doesn't have that stiffness some artists have when they're not very good. If you don't like the style, that's one thing, but the art, from an objective, technical point of view, is good, and the artist clearly knows her shit when it comes to technique.

My only beef with it is the more recent chapters, where everything is EXTREMELY confusing no matter how many times i've read it. The story has become disjointed and I feel like there's something missing. Also that it hasn't updated for the past two-three years now >.>;;. but...oh well. I still like it nevertheless and has read it a few times already.

First of all, the art. It's not good. I've definitely seen worse (Fujisaki Kou), but I still don't like it. I can barely keep up with the characters and I have little to no interest in them to begin with. Hell, I don't even remember their names. Fuck, I didn't even KNOW their names!

They might be interesting and I probably should've read on more to have confirmed that, but everything made me gag, so I stopped. Yes, I suppose that's bad judgement, but listen here. This's how I role:

This shouldn't have been a Yaoi manga. Maybe a comedic straight Hentai or just a supernatural manga in general. I'm sure it's not bad per se, I just don't feel like looking at the reasons why it's not bad. This manga is just not fit to be Yaoi.
