I adore this manga!
It has everything I look for in boys love manga... a really good sense of humor, likable characters, an interesting plot, steamy sexual tension, drama that is just heart-tearing.... ah it's just so good!
Honestly, at first I was unsure because of two things. First, the title seemed weird to me but it's really just random and I don't see how the manga would have anything to do with it, unless it's some pun I don't know about. And 2nd, the art, especially the way Norio was drawn, seemed a bit too weird for me. BUT, as I went on reading, I quickly got used to it and it even grew on me and I fell in love with the manga!
Yes, there's topics that not everyone is going to like.
If you have a big problem with alternate universe settings, the topic of forcing sex for the sake of making children, mpreg and the like.... you might not enjoy it that much.
I myself am not exactly a fan of these themes and yet I absolutely love Sex Pistols and everything about it!
I don't think I know any other manga that combines comedy with drama and pure sexiness this perfectly! The transition between lol-funny and totally hot and sexy is seamless!
The humor is just hilarious, it has a lot of serious laugh-out-loud moments as well as sad or bittersweet topics like the later relationships.
I love all characters, how Kunimasa is willing to wait even though he can often act really cold and only sees Norio as a thing to have sex with...how Norio's pure animal instinct tells him to have sex but his heart wants him to be more than just an object...... the relationship between Yonekuni and Fujiwara.....loved that one to bits!
The plot is not predictable, has a lot of exciting twists and turns and I believe that it'll please most yaoi fans!
Only thing is when reading the scanlation is it gets a bit confusing in volume 6 (ch35)... they used a Chinese raw and I think when manga is translated from Chinese, most of the time, a lot of stuff doesn't make sense anymore, there's a lot of awkward sentences and spelling mistakes. Also, they failed to translate some names. Since this is licensed though, it's definitively worth picking up the book instead!
I hope that the manga will be continued, especially since we don't yet get any conclusion on how the relationship between Norio and Kunimasa goes on... it's just too good of a manga to stay forever abandoned...
This is definitely one of my top favorite manga series out there and I'd recommend it to absolutely everyone who is not 100% against mpreg (and even then, read it!!)
What needs to be said is: if you are put off by the art when you begin reading this, don't stop! It's easy to get used to, and the manga is soooo worth it!
Don't stop after a chapter or two either, it really only gets better and better the more you read!
