Description

Twelve years ago the Village Hidden in the Leaves was attacked by a fearsome threat. A nine-tailed fox spirit claimed the life of the village leader, the Hokage, and many others. Today, the village is at peace and a troublemaking kid named Naruto is struggling to graduate from Ninja Academy. His goal may be to become the next Hokage, but his true destiny will be much more complicated. The adventure begins now.

I find this manga rather dull.
At first it might seem interesting and attracts your attention. However, after a while you might find the repeatable pattern of "hero saves the day" to be tedious and unimaginative.
It seems to me that Naruto always gets injured in his battles, then finds his inner strengh and win at the last moment...
I am unsure why this manga became so popular. In my opinion there are many mangas that deserve a higher rating than this.
However, I am giving this a 7.5 since it kept my attention for sometime.

This series is good until the end of the big exam, at that point it all starts to go down hill.
The fights are just so sad and lame, almost nothing happens for, almost literally 40-50 chapters at a time. Where this story once drew me in, like another person I have purchased a LOT of the Naruto manga... and I can't even reread it anymore for lack of story. Kishimoto needs to take a break, and come back with a way to end this series. The story is also named wrong, it revolves completely around the Sharingan and the character Sasuke, who the main character Naruto loves, as well as every other person who has ever met him.. it appears.

Overall, so much potential that was lost due to the desire to milk this, and avoid having to possibly move to another series where he could expand his skill in some direction. At least his brother knew to end his series, he didn't end it well, but he ended it.

The fans have been burned by this series enough, many "fans" are just waiting for the thing to end to come back and read the last few chapters to see it go down, which is what I am doing. Every once in a while I read a few chapters here and there, just to see nothing has happened.

To people like Orange_Beast who say people didn't read it, and that is why they find it boring... you might want to read the manga as it appears you have only watched the anime. It is sort of obvious from your post where you say he says "Believe it!" and talk about filler arcs. Read the manga before commenting please, vote for the anime at an anime review site, not manga.

This series is fantastic, and it's definitely one of the best shounen out there. Comparing it to other Shounen giants such as One Piece and Bleach I'd say its definitely better because unlike One Piece it isn't annoyingly wacky with plenty of unlikable characters, repetitive concepts and stretched out arcs and unlike Bleach it actually has an engaging plots with clever sub-plots and plot-points. Right not the series may be at its best with us seeing the leaders from the other villages, I imagine this series is nearing its end but I fear that is inevitable. Perhaps the only problem with this manga is the fact that not all of the side characters get storytime and some characters get too much storytime(Shikamaru) and spoilers Kakuzu's defeat was just poor writing, anyways I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes Shounen manga or just action manga in general.

I give it a 9.3 out of 10

Here's the deal, i've read a lot of manga in my time; even the older ones with the crappy drawings, and Naruto grades a bit higher than average but in no way is this a marvelous manga... or rather, it simply begins to get lost and drop in quality after its 3rd or 4th arc (rescue sasuke arc); making you wonder "How'd they come up with something so cheesy." or "Way to scrape the bottom of the barrel.".... recent chapters especially pale in comparison to the marvelous storyline this manga once had; one thing i do like about it is the constant involvement it keeps with side characters (although even that is dropping)... so yeah, an average manga more for hardcore shounen fans, i wouldn't recommend it to people who actually want a manga that requires them to think; or anyone that expects good plot development

Well, I must say that in terms of art, it is pretty good. In terms of story or plot, it's not so great. To me, it is a pretty typical shonen manga. It is NOT a bad manga. It is pretty good. The story is slightly repetitive and the author obviously does not have as many ideas as he used to; however, if you read it through, it will hold your attention to the end. As some say, the beginning was better than the way it is now. It's a manga I would recommend to people of younger ages from say, 8-15. It won't do much for older people, as the story is somewhat predictable and basic. There's an enemy/group that is opposing peace. The main character is fighting against it and learns new things to make himself more powerful. As of yet there is not an ending but it will probably end with a few important character losses and the main character will end up winning. It has some good comedy in the beginning but that fizzles out soon, lowering the number of reasons to read the manga.

One of the best manga I have read and Anime I have ever watched. Kishimoto is a genius! I highly recommend this too all otakus out there who finds something unique, dramatic, hilarious, and incredible. Naruto, the main character is naturally funny because of his personality. I like main characters who never gives up and improves more and does whatever it takes to protect everyone he wants to protect. Sakura is my favorite anime character. At first, she is so weak, annoying at times but when she started training with tsunade, I started to love her!!! I love Sakura in Shipuuden most!

Was my favorite, but the story line has decayed significantly. It used to be straightforward and clean, but it's gotten overly complicated. Complex stories are fine, but in order to explain the more detailed plots, there's too much emphasis on lecturing and not enough on action.

even though it started out memorible but as the story develop it gets really boring and u get a feeling that the story is no longer revolve around the main character ..aka naruto anymore and points/objective of the story isnt about being a hokage anymore ..but to find sasuke and destroy akatsuki because they're the bad guy ....-_-

i like how different skills and battle strategies are used in the manga. It shows that some fights require wits rather than just brute force. Though sometimes excessive drama ruin the mood in those great fights. . Also the author try to expand the story, and it makes some things complicated that's why i give it an 8
