I really don't know how I feel about this. One moment I liked the premise and wanted to find out what would happen and then some plot twist came (or it became clearer where the plot was heading) and I lost interest.
Overall, none of the stories left any deep impression (not that I expect every manga to have some profound message but this one probably was meant to have it?). If I had to decide which I liked the most, I would say Shiramine and Fangs.
Wild Butterfly and Tomuraishi didn't interest me at all. In case of Wild Butterfly it was quite possibly because, being from country that had been under two totalitarian regimes, I have seen/read so many fictional and non-fictional movies/books in which the regime appears to some degree. They were mostly heart-wrenching complex tales that make this one seem like something written by a kid (not to mention I became almost allergic to nazi and pseudo-nazi settings... unless they're really thought out).
Senyoden falls somewhere in the middle - objectively I tell myself I liked it... but it left me cold.
(it was kind of hard to formulate my thoughts on this and I kept coming up with idioms used in my language so I hope this review make at least some sense >.<)
Tl;dr: I will probably forget most of the stories but overall I'm not regretting reading this.

1) Wild Butterfly
I guess it's WW2, somewhere in Europe. Happily married pacifist "seme" and his "uke" from the cover. There may be some message but nothing original. That's the point. Anti-war message is common and it isn't easy to make something memorable.
2) Senyoden - Legend of the Demon Oracle
Good oneshot with strong twist.
3) The Strange Tale of Shiramine
Well... not memorable itself but at least educational.
4)Fangs
Jesus Christ/Wor crucified on cover? Uhm... And Myong seemed a little too young. Except those flaws it was an excellent story, disturbing and dark.
5) Tomuraishi - Protector of the Dead
Supernatural and boring oneshot.

I loved it, there's a lot of variety and all the stories are entertaining. Although most are sad I really liked them. It's been a long time since I read a manga that left such a good impression on me, it's definitely in my favorite's list :3
I recommend it, so go ahead and read it, tho' if you are looking for a fluffy and cute story this isn't it

this is very japanese, and not just because it uses japanese mythology. just the general feel is so, even in the first story, which takes place in an imaginary world. strong stories, beautifully detailed art, minimal BL content. yeah, i can't even see how to slash these -- though i guess akihito x miki is a possibility, considering they do seem to develop feelings of care for each other, and one could stretch that, i guess. but eh, why bother; strong male bonding works for me.
i like the message best in wild butterfly, but the story that affected me most is senyouden.
oh, the first story is not supernaturally themed.

This is an absolutely brilliant collection of short stories.
I do find it strange that it's classed as BL and published under DMP's June imprint - since only ONE out of the 5 stories is yaoi at all. And it would take a considerable stretch of imagination to even consider the rest "slashy", much less shounen-ai
Even so, I highly recommend this book, and not for the stories alone. Kusumoto sensei writes in very masculine style - fans of Jaryuu Dokuro should definitely read this.
DMP included 4 gorgeous, full colour pages in its excellently translated release.
