Description
Misaki is perhaps the most innocent and most sincere young lady there ever was. It’s almost inconceivable that she could be a vampire. With her powers as a vampire, she could easily entice any human to do her bidding but she chooses not to. Especially when it comes to Kuroe, a young author who has a deep running past with vampires, and the man she is in love with.

I love this. It's a brilliant mix of a bunch of different genres, it flows well, the characters are incredible, and the story is interesting. I think my favorite aspect of Blood Alone is the flow of events, coupled with the dialogue. The pace is slow, with each chapter very neatly covering one event, or portion of the plot. And with every chapter, I find myself feeling overwhelmed by the characters and the story. The slow pace gives it a kind of slice-of-life feel, but unlike most titles in that genre, this one has amazing depth to the characters and the story that make it feel ... significant.. There's also enough action to make it not feel boring or uneventful, and a touch of detective/mystery that really makes this a well-rounded title.
Also, Misaki, with her heart-attack-inducing-cute personality, and the dynamics between her and Kuroe, will leave you overwhelmed in pretty much every chapter.
One of the few titles I can give a 10 rating without feeling like maybe it's undeserving of a perfect 10 somehow.

Surprising, to say the least.

I sincerely doubt that most people who take a crack at BLOOD ALONE expect what they receive. Not quite action nor slice of life nor even a standard supernatural story, and in a fashion similar to gunslinger girl, any lolicon-style romance is firmly put on the back burner. It's a unique blend of genres that is highly relaxing and atmospheric, and yet at the same time all the more intriguing and mysterious because of the air it so carefully cultivates. Ultimately, whatever it is trying to do works splendid, and I always walk away feeling entertained, yet strangely unable to articulate the complete reason why.
Simply Enjoyable

A great romance novel that may appeal both genders - not to mention it's a vampire story to boot!
The story may sometimes be what others call "slow paced" but it provides plenty of action, mysteries, thrills and suspense all the same.
One can relate to the characters, and the drawing enhances the each character's personalities.
Though some people who look forward to fan service may be left unsatisfied, I believe it's the story that makes a manga enjoyable (unlike some mangas I have read that was purely fan-service).
An overall great story to read
I recommend it!

In this manga, very few things actually happen. Sort of an investigation manga, with small arcs. However the relationship between Misaki and Kuroe is the best one you'll find out there. I cant' really define it, not a guardian, not a lover, not a child,... But it feels real.
It is very slow paced, and even slower since the releases are sooo long to come, but it is so refreshing. It makes you feel good. Calm. Cool. Well you get it.
Anyway, don't pass this without a try. And savour it, no need to read it in one go. But read it anyway, I think you won't be disappointed.

Yay, a vampire-themed manga that doesn't try to make vampires these ultra sexy beasts who think of nothing but drinking blood erotically and seducing stupid shoujo leads. Three guesses as to which manga that would be.
Great

This is a lovely manga. And a vampire manga at that, usually can't stand those.
The characters are likeable, story progresses in an interesting way, with occasional flashbacks slowly unveiling the past. As others said, it's told in a "detective" style, but it comes across very natural and it doesn't bore at all. Don't let things like "vampire manga" "loli" "siscon" scare you off, it's not taking after any stereotype at all. This is just genuinely original and good. Highly recommended.
I stumbled upon this once and passed, but gave it another go and read it all at once. Only to discover that it was a pretty slow updating manga, so it might be smart to take your time reading it.

Simply engaging and entertaining. The characters are all great, the art is perfect, the story is exciting and the style and layout of the manga is interesting and refreshing. I flew through all the volumes from beginning until the end. Misaki is too adorable and Kuroe is awesome. Great and interesting side characters are everywhere. The pacing of the volumes is just right and I've become a great fan of this mangaka now. I hope this gets off hiatus soon and I'll be wishing for more volumes soon.

the main heroine is so adorable cute waahhh XD, but seriously if you are looking for some vampire action then this is not for you, it has lot of drama, daily routines (slice of life), and slow paced.

Misaki is adorable and the way the characters interact with each other in general seems very natural and engaging. I think I love most how well-hidden the twinges of darkness are in this seemingly very heart-warming tale. I only wish the chapters would come quicker.

Very warm and positive series. Sometimes it heads towards being dark and actiony, but those bits are surrounded slice of life stuff.
This isn't a romance story. She likes him, he treats her like a child. She is a (realistically depicted) child, and I don't see him going all paedophile on us. I was a bit worried it was going to end in ludicrous lolicon romance justified by 'she's a vampire and this is a manga so whatever', but fortunately it doesn't go there.
