Sequel to Immortal Regis.
24 Volumes (Complete)

I prefer the prequel, i feel this story so slow and boring and i rather kind of wish the prequel just ended. Instead the world is completely changed and i miss seeing the interesting battle magic in the prequel and it like technology has changed in this world. I know part of the plot but so much was rip and so many questions. I mostly like it for the art. Ill finish this story when it done but right now it just so boring.it so confusing and im so disappointed on what the author chose to do. the fiest story was better and now i find everything out of wack...
Immortal Regis was way to shounen for my liking.
Cavalier of the Abyss has a lot more interesting characters.
Nex was the embodiment of your typical shounen lead in Regis. Even though he is now a villain he is way more interesting. There is also the mystery of why Serin betrayed Nex, what part the night clan played in the betrayal and who exactly are the real biological children of Nex.
Just is also an interesting character with a devious two faced nature and an almost Joker like playful psychotic side,
Nin is my favourite character. You have to feel for the guy. He experiences so much pain and rejection that he has a low sense of self worth. He walks a fine line between nobility and antihero.
Xix is the character who I find the least interesting, which makes reading the manga difficult since so much of the manga revolves on this typical whinny underpowered but with hidden power lead.
Happy that the manga is focusing more on Nin of late.
Would rate the manga higher but the huge focus on Xix and the slow pace at which mysteries are revealed means I can only give this series a 8.
i don't know why but i feel compelled to read even though its really confusing maybe even more than the prequel but this manga i find a little more confusing because they don't give you a explanation about whats happened after the prequel and then they introduce a bunch of whole new characters and expect you to catch onto whats going on along the way witch they kinda do but it'll still confusing even after you find out whats going on but for the most part its a lot like the prequel
(i suggest reading it if you liked the prequel and highly recommend that you read the prequel if you haven't because if you haven't it'll just be way to fucking confusing)
Its honestly too early to tell where this is going. The side switch of the MC from Immortal Regis is a surprise but interesting nonetheless. The art has improved a bit, which is saying something since it was rather good to begin with. The new characters bring a fresh look from the original, but lying in the same premise as the original makes me wonder where/if the two are going to intersect. As I loved the original, I will, of course, follow this too.
(And some of you idiots need to read more manhwa, its not cursed like manga with whored out cliches. Nor is it something that can be described with a simple "drama" and "tearjerker", which are both eliments that even original lacked.)
for those of you that read immortal regis, this story might be a let down because the story didnt turn out how u wanted it too, but give it a chance before you make an accurate judgement. it's still way too early with only 3 chapters and way too many unanswered questions. let's give it time shall we? it still has potential to turn out really well. might not be the way i envisioned it, but i have hope
i can't really understand why these otakus hate CoA so much. The concept here is really refreshing for me, which sets this manhwa apart from all those cliched mangas out there. What's so wrong with protagonist turns bad-ass? It rocks! Let's hope a group will pick up this series.
This really is getting intetersting after the start where everything seems to be quite... well. You think that there are no familiar faces. So far, i think saying that reading prequel ruins the sequel is said way too hasty. Giving this 8 for now since I loved I-R, and may give even more if story is even relatively as good as in prequel.
all or most familiar people are still there, but they are just older. My bets go for that something has been done to Jae-Hyuk, since massacring attitude is a charasteristic which they killed out from him in I-R prequel.
I love the immortal regis
and so is this...
his will to save his
brother really amaze me
although someone kidnap
his brother in the prequel
but in this chapter there
might be a way but I will
i'm basing my comment and rating off of the only chapter that appears to have been scanslated, but if Jae Hyuk has really been rendered as the antagonist in the new story, AND has such a cavalier attitude towards killing and such contempt for others, then I'm totally disappointed in the author in ruining Immortal Regis, the prequel's buildup, and changing the main character.
I think a good number of Immortal Regis readers feel the same way I do, which might explain why scanslations for CofA are as yet so limited.
The number of volumes and "amount" of story that this one is getting is the amount the story that the first one should had have, IMO the prequel is much better than this, even the MC sucks, I just read it because of some of the prequel characters appear, but I don´t know how much I can take from this one
