The Sequel is 1000 times better

The number of volumes and "amount" of story that this one is getting is the amount the story that the first one should had have, IMO the prequel is much better than this, even the MC sucks, I just read it because of some of the prequel characters appear, but I don´t know how much I can take from this one

As this is a sequel u MUST watch Immortal regis, then... this is one of those Mangas that MUST be read in bulk as somehow it will feel messed up once u catch to it u better wait 6 months to continue 😀 lol.

Personally I enjoyed Immortal Regis. I had high hope for this sequel. It actually started off good. It was a darker settings and makes one guess as the possibilities of what happened. However, now 78 chapters in, I feel like the author is going off on some weird tangent to draw out an unnecessary event. I wanted to know what happened to Jae Hyuk and Serin, not to go on some development about these other characters who have yet to prove their importance in the story. This series is getting really close to my drop list... If you wanna pick it up, be sure to read IR first and be prepared to be annoyed with more questions than answers.

The setting for this being the sequel to Immortal Regis in my opinion is not very good. Like others have said the story is really confusing even if you have read IR until around chapters 24. Then you get ohhhhhhhh no wonder feeling from this story and then after that it's still confusing. Reading up to chapter 71 and I'm even more confused as to where the story is really going.

Could be better if the setting was set it 2 years after IR and then talk about the main characters struggles to save his brother instead of what we have now which I believe should be like 18-22 years later?

I think it's about 20 since somewhere in the story said Nex's currently wife and her dad has pushed Seiren (don't remember how to spell her name) away 20 years ago in order for her to get close to Nex

Much better than IR

Immortal Regis had a crapload of plotholes, deus ex machina, loose ends, and other typical signs of bad writing. Its no wonder that when the author decided to continue the the series with the help of a new writing assistant, he rebranded the series as Cavalier of the Abyss to lessen the connection between it and the mediocre crap that was IR. In fact, the main reason why I had to dock points from Cavalier's score was because the author had to introduce some contrived plot points in order to make Cavalier's story flow with IR's.

TL 😀 R if you're going to start reading this series, don't bother with IR. Just start with Cavalier.

EDIT (4/8/15): I just caught up the to the latest chapter (Ch.127), and I have to say the plot twists here are fucking fantastic. The story is at a great point too, with incredibly numerous plot threads and subthreads reaching their climax while new ones are still being introduced. Updated rating from 8.5 to 10.

So much mystery

Awesome story, really got me hooked.
I like the charachters and the romance in it a lot, just hoped that they author would have chose to narate the story chronologically and not with flashbacks.

Anyway, anyone knows whats up with the scanlations? Have the group dropped it, or it isn't in their immidiate priorities? (don't take that as an insult, im pretty gratefull to them just for reaching it that far, just asking xd)

Man, it's getting more and more and more and... ARGGGG!!! I'm suffocating with dramas filling in the air of this manhwa, else say KOREAN comic!

Man... And all those girls and boys, shouldn't this be considered as harem as well? Progression is so so SOOOOO slow...

I must agree that the first couple chapters made me go insane with a combination of WTF and REALLY!? and my reading IR really didn't help much. So here I go I will try to Explain

So to begin with if you've read IR for the first 24 chapters I believe you will not understand anything its like they just threw you into the book just like purplegeass said. Basically Nex (in my opinion ultra-douche is the best way to describe him.) Is unfortunately yep Jae Hyuk and Serin is imprisoned as his blood bank because she tried to kill him (Which her father knows but does nothing. (good parenting.)) It turns out that around chapter 24 it goes back 2 years after the end of IR and explains everything. He is summoned to some place in chaos where everyone is (sorry I don't remember the name.) Where this girl Iffrita is told to seduce Jae Hyuk which only leads to her falling for him. It continues on and Depore seeing this seduction gets angry and Jae Hyuk and Depore get into a fight where its slips that Serin was sending her blood to him and they talk she almost dies, he cast away his brother, saves the world (for now) and he asks her to marry him (to save the world he had to become Regis aka king.) Iffrita and she asks Mikhail to help her become queen thus hinting toward a conspiracy that Serin may hade made no attempt to kill him, and that in the in end it turns out that she will try to wipe out the daemon clan. So pretty much from chapter 24 on everything makes sense. Sorry for the update but from 24 on you can see why he isn't a super douche.

It's alright

This is a sequel to another series, if people didn't know. This is alright. I was hecka confused at the beginning. i was like what the heck happened. There's quite a few twists and turns, but the chapters are getting interesting. I'm talking about vol6 and 7...you kind of just have to stop reading and wait for more chapters to come out and then realise, dang so much happened you have to go back and read the series from the beginning
