Description

Due to the pressure of pleasing his girlfriend, at his young age Kang Hyuk can’t get it up. Eventually, he discovers a urology clinic. There he meets the so-called “godhand” of urology, Han Yoojun, a bonafide gay doctor. “If you get an erection, go ahead and masturbate ”. Using love counseling as an excuse, Yoojun continues to pursue Kang Hyuk. Soft love and life lessons

"I don't want to be just some guy he loved once, a long time ago", this sentence really stuck with me, it's been a while since I first read this, and it's so funny how it barely left an impression on me.

But this time around, the story feels so realistic, so beautiful, and "scintillating". I love that their love wasn't crazy, wasn't dramatic or life-changing, and Yoonjoon was not this crazy rich alpha boss who resented the warmth of another person until he met his fated partner. He was just coping with loneliness and learned how to navigate his real feelings as someone who was neglected as a child. He is flawed in a way that feels so realistic and not rage-baiting, and he loves so deeply in a way that's not over the top or straight up cringey. And actually talks for once, it's such a breath of fresh air.

And though Hyuk himself is such a kind, adorable, and honest person, it's so nice seeing him not become the "fragile pushover bottom" that lets things go way too quickly as for the norm in BLs nowadays. I wish they talked more about his experience in high school and maybe his past relationship because this is Yoonjoon's first commitmed relationship ever, but that's not the same for Hyuk.

All and all, beside the very big ick that they met in high school, i think their love is totally memorable. They are more than just pieces of story glued together for me, they are just exactly how I want to love and feel loved, communicative, soft, and, new everyday.

definitely confirmed bottom enjoyment. everyone is pretty much always shown to be enjoying the sex when it happens. the bottom verbalizes that he is having a rly good time and there is pretty minimal wait/stop/nos. there is a bit of the shitty bl language around consent in terms of like "i wont stop even if u ask" or like "ur hard so ur body is telling me the truth" but i dont think it ever happens during the actual sex.

this series does show a romantic relationship that starts as a doctor - patient relationship and they do at first do sexual things under the guise of "treatment."

spoiler for something that may pose an issue for people:

the dr and hyuk meet and have a romantic entanglement when hyuk is 19 and dr is somewhere in the early/mid twenties>!

I was reading it when it was coming out but I stopped in the middle bc I got bored and Dr Han pissed me off a little too much. Now I've finished it and it was fine but nothing so special. I loved the 2nd ship more tho;// Either way it was something interesting and I didn't read anything like this before and after.

Started a bit sus (like girl it's a doctor using his position to see the bottom squirm) but I really consider it a good story! Really enjoyed how the doctor completely changes his personality and even though nobody believes in him, he really does change. Also! As usual I love both of their friend groups! Supporting and loving!

The flow wasn't really good from the end of one chapter to the start of the next one in more than one cases, but it was still a cute read with unexpected reactions for the seme and the awkward, but shy and honest uke.

It gets way better after the first half and with lots of communication after certain things occur. I liked the built-up twist of them meeting before as a tutor and a student and the fact that the uke fell in love a second time with the same person while he didn't know it was the same person. It was a nice touch.

Same with the reassuring words the same said that the uke thought he had been told before by the same so he realized he was indeed loved back then too.

Not to mention that the side stories are giving "Jaxx" art vibes.

I liked it a lot. Shallow Seme, cute Uke, not to much drama, but just enough to be entertained 🙂 and in the end redemption arch. A minus - second couple (did do much, just had sex... )

mediocre quick read

This is a light story if you need a break from all the heavy stuff. Characters were inconsequent and just generally superficial and hyperfocused on one trait. The outcome is obvious, so the author's attempt to make it a bit uncertain just makes the reader lose focus on the story line. If you want the usual cliche and a bit of drama though, this work is pretty okay.
