Confusing but really deep story

What makes this manhwa wonderful is the ending. At first, I thought this was going to be just one of the typical shoujo kind stories but the the ending made the story worthwhile. I do think there was a lack of focus on what could have made the story more convincing and memorable. But the ending really makes you think beyond what the typical love story is which is rare from all the other shoujo mangas I've read.

Hard to swallow.: the ending and the execution

I dont like this manga. Good idea, executed badly. The ending left me a bitter taste that even scrubbing with a charcoal metal toothbrush wont help. For some this may be a masterpiece, for me it barely worth 5.5

Inconsistant

While I enjoyed the story this manhwa has consistency problems. The story jumps around and does not do a very good job of explaining the trauma that the main character went through. It does not give enough info to really understand the story. We get to know some of the characters but the events are not clear. If I did not know better I would think that there were a lot of missing frames. The ending seems to be ok and the beginning is good but the events leading from beginning to end just do not seem to be there.

Other authors have done this kind of story better. A lot of the plot twists are obvious. I saw

Young-Bin-s incestuous crush on Hye-Won a mile away and a lot of plot twists that might have been entertaining aren't included when they might have been a welcome addition to the story. Lee Nanaah could have crafted the plot with a lot more precision and originality.
Also, none of the relationships besides Hye-Woo and Bin's relationship are allowed to develop beyond attraction. In the end, I could count ! at least four guys being interested in Hye-Won and yet Lee doesn't give any of the relationships to do anything but add cheap tragedy or drama.
The character are a mixed bunch. I adored both Hye-Won's brother Young-bin, Bin's friend Woo-joo and Hye-Won's intensely loyal, party-loving fashionista friend Soo-Kyung, but a lot of the characters miss out on any kind of develop and stayed the same, cookie-cutter character through out the story (coughSi Woocough), and some of them just miss out on any sort of development entirely. I mean, come on Lee. You create a dark haired, bamboo-wielding, ass-kicking bishouen and you don't give him a personality? For shame.
The art is good though. While I might dislike the fashions potrayed (Hye-Won's nightclub outfit, anyone?) and it was a bit gratingly sterotypical shoujo, with abuse of sparkles and flowers abound at times, especially as the chapters progress, the bodies were in propotion, the guys were lip-lickingly hot and, when Hye-Won and Eun Ah-Young were in the club together, I could see that Ah-Young was more beautiful than Hye-Won, instead of it being an informed difference.
If you enjoyed this, I'd suggest Hot Blooded Woman, Hana Yori Dango, or Desire Climax

the story is too loose. who should've be the main character? woo joon and hye won must be if the author wanted a dramatic ending. though at first i was intrigued with the characters, as i read the last chapter i realized i didnt like the plot at all. can't relate the characters with each other. in short i dont like it at all too bad it has a nice start and ends up like a trash. sorry for the fans

The plot was decent at best and lousy the rest of the time. There were so many characters with not much time. You get a glimpse of her friend and the relationship, you get a Queen Bee who bullies her. But then, so what? What happened to them? Is that is?

The ending was utterly bizzare. It was implied from the start about his feelings and a bit of signs about his illness, but so how does his death show anything? He didnt play such a huge role. Nothing pivotal about his character which would have warranted the "dramatic" ending.

Not to mention the brother and the other guy who likes her. So how has anything changed from earier? Nothing's answered. The story would have came across as above average if the excution was better done but sad to say, in this story, it wasnt. Hence the weak plot with what might have been a nice open ended ending was quickly revealed and became a major fault.

GWAD GWAD GWAD!
When i read the first chapter i was like, omfuggngwad, Bin is such a hwat delinquent and he's not that fukd up playboy type so i was seriously head over heels for him. The girl? Very straight forward and not exactly dumb but she doesnt exactly know whats happening at points of the manwha.

Do you Want To Try is a really really unique manwha. The story is so!!!! i cant express the feelings if i had to choose only one! It intrigues you to see how such an unlikely relationship will work out between the bad-ass jjang and the beauty (though only has one friend) chick. Andd there are the other hwat guys especially Woo Joo in and the herroines brother.

i think its sweet how the younger brother wants to protect his traumatised olda sista by gonig to limits as becoming the freshman jjang.
Bin... who wuuda thought that someone could actually get through to him after what he also went through. He's an amazingly strong fighter and my heart warmed up during the times he bashed the son of a bitches who badmouthed or did stuff to his girlfriend. Now thats a real GUY for you, even if he seemed like a crazy phsyco killing jjangkeh who bashes anyone in his ways.

and Woo Joo In... dear god please have mercy on this poor soul who happens to be so adorable. It sucks that Woo Joo In died because he was like the cutie amongst the bloody.It broke my heart that he had to die like that, seriously, i knew that he was sick after seeing him rush for his medicine, but i was slowly tearing apart when i realised that he saw Hye Won get raped and couldn't do anything for her. I can understand the sense where his death actually comes along the story is. He had a love at first sight (first love) that was one-sided to Hye Won. He couldn't deny that Hye Won and Bin loved each other and he's too close to Bin and loves Hye Won too much to get between them. Hyun Si Woon and hyw Won's brother already have feelings for Hye Won although Si Woon's one is ok because he just cares so deeply for Hye Woon but wont go to hurt her as get between her and Bin. Therefore, Woo Joo In's loe was unrequited since it was the end of this manga anyway and not just that but, there was nothing or no-one left to inform Hye Won of Woo Joo In's feelings for her.

LISTEN UP! THIS MANGA IS QUITE MUCH LIKE HANA YORI DANGO!!
NO KIDDING, I WASNT DISAPPOINTED ACTUALLY! RATHER HAPPY! I PERSONALLY LIKED THE DELINQUENT PART OF THIS BETTER AND THIS HYE WON WASNT SO ANNOYING LIKE JAN DEE!
My final say is this to those who are thinking of reading or considering this manga...  
                   you don't come across a heart-touching tragedy genred manga with a happy ending (at least for the two main characters). so take this chance to embrace the cold and warmth of what it would be like if you were suddenly involved with jjangs, bitches and life-threatening delinquents while trying to hold onto someone you truly love and losing a friend who had deeper feelings for you which would have never been exposed...

Well, it ended so abruptly, like:

"Hey, the story is good so far, but I have to go pee now, so let's skip to the part where I tell you the end and spoil the whole series: HE DIES! That's it." mangaka hangs up the phone

What I wanna say is... OMG! How come you can tell the whole end, the great picture, in one single chapter!? How come you didn't give any hint he was dying!?! Did you come up with that just now?
The manhwaka should have developed the story better...

Like my friend says about books:
"Knowing what happens in the end is good... but knowing HOW it ended is what matters!"
[Twilight Saga/ Breaking Down spoiler: "Bella gets pregnant and becomes a Vampire" => an idiot posted it in the forum the next day the book was released... so unfunny!]

I loved everything in this manhwa. It seemed similar to others at first, but its better than others. Loved the story, the characters AND the ending. 😛 p.s. anyways i agree it seemed cut off XD

Ok until the ending...

I honestly liked this manga until the very last chapter. I personally think it was horrible to end the manga like that with hardly and development of feelings between woo bin & hye won. Also the black haired guy (her other love interest...i forget his name) said that he wouldn't give her up and then like 3 chapters later the story ended with the death of woo joo-in. Apparently Hye Won was woo joo-in's first love but he couldn't save her from almost being raped and then he gets by a truck while riding his motorcycle and the last scene is of his funeral. I get that all stories aren't happy but I feel that this scene & the ending were totally random and the author just rushed everything so she could get it over with and not develop things like plot, & romance. It was good but it could have been so much more...
