But I want to address some things here

I feel like Kou's character overshadowed Natsume's. As a character he is more intense, layered, and fascinating. Natsume is a strong female lead, she also has her own share of traumas and burdens, but I guess she's just a more realistic character than Kou.

cant understand why but the story, the characters and the art feels right. like it had to be this way. it sure is angsty and frustating like most shoujos and its not the best story out there, but it just feels like its perfect on its own.

This manga is AMAZING. Please do not be put off by the 12 year old age like i was at first. I'm a fan of romance shoujos with lots of drama, good story lines and even sometimes with a mature feel. This one isn't mature and hasn't got a lot of the typical shoujo drama yet it's sooo heart warming and leaves you wanting more at the end of every chapter. If you are a shoujo fan i HIGHLY recommend this mange, truly a little gem. I totally love the story line (not slow at all) and the characters are just soo real. The artwork is gorgeous too (Natsume, the main girl is totally stunning).

Satisfying ending

I've read this before but the manga I read before has not so good translation, I really didn't understand it but loved it because it's psychological-romance,

I've had mixed feelings against kou before; 'that he chose violence over her, loves her but not enough to choose her. Then read it again and realize that I love natsume and kou's character equally (despite natsume's flaws. she's quite hard to love because she's so selfish haha ) I've re-read it again, and this time I understand why they did what they did (even though it's a manga that still makes me think every chapter) it has such a good ending. at the end all I felt was peace, even if the ! relationship/circumstance look really painful because even after their son happened they didn't marry or have communications, because at the end it said that after haruto they don't have communication, then met again after 17 years, and 6 months from then got married. And really for otomo I think natsume was a good experience for him. vice versa.. no lingering feelings/thoughts that it should've been otomo. Because if she stayed with otomo she won't be what she is at 55, that conquered japan, cos even if otomo would support her it won't last in their 20-30s, he'll want her to settle, and natsume really loves that thrill she's experiencing through cameras. and for kou I don't think they got back just because of their history(I've read somewhere that they think its just because of history.) She truly loves kou she just love Otomo as a person but not romantically, she loves how otomo is so stable,so natural, so kind, accepting so ideal, she loves the quality that otomo can offer. And even if she's deceiving otomo, or has something troubling her, otomo doesn't notice, she has to say it, while kou and natsume can understand each other with just one look, and In natsume's case looks and actions. (I actually think that natsume notices that too she has just desires so she ignores it, but subconsciously knows.) While the love natsume and kou have for each other is based on connection, they have this understanding, acceptance quality in their relationship, that no matter what the other do, they'll still love each other,accept it, understand it, they're always pulling each other up. They have this CONNECTION. Kou, I don't think he really was sad too in his life before their marriage, he seems so calm, so at peace, so accepting that I don't think he's suffering before her. So I think the prediction of that ends with just mentioning that blaze. (I look forward to my review next year! I wonder what'll change? Haha) Also! Love the supernatural!! It makes so much sense if you guys keep that in mind. Don't know why it doesn't have supernatural in genres when the core of the story is supernatural.

I've read one review that says kou is invincible, he's sooo NOT! Kou's so damaged, full of insecurity, If he's invincible then why's he suffering? And the four leads Natsume, Kou, Kana, Ohji

just needs self-love, it's the root of their sufferings. Kou didn't really experience love, writing this makes me realize how he is so sad. Wanna cry, haha

Amazing ride

This manga started off amazingly. The chemistry between Natsume and Kou was otherworldy and the narrative was most of the time poetic. Although fair warning, this is not your average shoujo as it is griped with violence, sexual abuse and trauma and death - very slice of life and very George Asakura. What struck out to me the most was the familiar feeling of putting your beloved on a pedestal, believing they are invincible and perfect. Once this shatters as it does, the relationship crumbles. Without words, you can feel disappointment reflected on their eyes even when you both wanted to make it work and that is painful. How truly fragile relationships are.
I read the manga in one sitting and unfortunately, in the late chapters, it felt kinda rushed. The initial poetic storytelling got lost in the pace and I felt like reading on just to see how it ends.

Kou was, at the start, intriguing, likeable and attractive despite his many flaws but when he hurt Natsume (in multiple ways), all the redeeming qualities he had vanished. On the other hand, Natsume had no concept of self love or self worth. Realistic as it is, I wish she had made Kou repent for all the hurt he caused. What Kou did in the ending wasn't enough to make up for all the good he could have done but didn't for Natsume.
Ootomo deserved better. He was heart broken twice - by Kou and Natsume. Mid story there was no more character development from him and his relationship with Natsume, so meeting with Kou was expected.

Overall I still loved this manga. I will probably reread this in the future to relive the feelings of puppy love, teenage angst. I suggest reading the author's other works as well.

it's one of the greatest manga i've ever read,i really mean it. George Asakura is really a genius,and she can make a story even with 12-year olds exciting.The mood is intense,the art is wonderful and this is definitely not fluffy and 'cute',like your regular shoujo manga,so i can just repeat what the others said: DO read it,you're gonna love it!

Well, at 1st i don't really like the art...but i have read some of the sensei's work...and i start to read the 1 st vol of this manga..i haven't found a story line like this before!!! I wonder if it will be a movie or dorama. It is really great!

After chapter 2 i was hooked. This manga will slowly pull you in!! I wasn't a fan of the art at first but its actually really beautiful >_<

I read the raws and it disappointed me BIG TIME.. It was really a good manga till 'that' particular event from the manga happened. It fell down to the typical shoujo plot after that event happened... And personally.. i was so disappointed.. Lots and lots of potential ~| it bacame too stressful to read it!!
