Description

Most girls are crazy about jewelry, but not Anis Yamamoto. Not since her father gave her a rose choker as a child, claiming it was a protective amulet which would safeguard her from harm; however, if she ever took it off (a feat easier said than done!), she would be afflicted by a “punishment” of some sort. Not like it matters to her though, since the attention it attracts around school from faculty and students alike isn’t something she’s particularly fond of.

But after a certain incident causes the choker to disappear, she realizes that this punishment her father spoke of might have been a bit more than she bargained for!

i like it a lot! at first, i wasn't all too impressed, but things got rolling, and it got more sincerity in the mix, and i ended up liking it a whole lot. it gets a lot better!! a wholeee lot better! i love that anis isn't necessarily a physically strong, save-the-day kinda heroine, but she tries to do what's right, and she does it even though she finds it hard. she doesn't like being able to do nothing, so she does what she can.

and the knights... oh the knights... ahhhh! they're so beautiful, and their personalities are just so vibrant and adorable. even the ones i didn't like in the beginning began to have more complex personalities, and a past, and motives, and began to become more real. i like it. 🙂

the art - whoa, the art is breath taking. every time a full color drawing of the knights come up i'm like AHHHH! (in a good way.) anis even got a bit better drawn i think.

and i love the romance! it's so... i mean...

kinda predictable? but they throw in wrenches.. like the black rose, i was not expecting that, even though it was somewhat of an act (phew by the way! i was like NOOO!). i think she's ending up with kaede - that's how i can see it ending up, anyways - but it gives the others their moments.

it's just steamy enough to wish it was even more steamy.. hehe...

all in all, not the BEST IVE EVER READ OMG. but it entertains, and keeps you wondering, and oh goodness the bishies. i can't believe there's only a couple more volumes, it can't end ;~;

Was a bit worried that the female lead, Anis, would be head over heels crazy over her knights when she realised she's the Rose Princess but I'm glad she knows that she has to pull her own weight and is serious about taking responsibility as what she is. The art is crazy beautiful I love all the characters and although Anis looks much younger than her male counterparts, the maturity of her character makes up for it.

Can't wait for the full completion of scanlation of this manga. Really worth your time reading! 🙂

P/S: what bugs me is that Anis father is so not the typical father you see in mangas. Hopefully there's a reason to it in the end.

There is a plot, but it's basically an excuse for smouldering-eyed bishounen that all dote on the heroine in some way, whether it's giving hordes of affection, or just a bunch of sexual tension. But I truly like the plot though, it reminds me a little of Ouran mixed with a magical girl shioujo. The art is clean and pleasing to the eye, and oh so girly. If you are here for that bishounen romance kick, then you have come to the right place. If you are here for some depth and a memorable story that makes you remember it for a long time, then go look for Fullmetal Alchemist.

I Do Love how the author is making me suffer for me waiting for the next chapter to come out but other that that this manga is not that bad ! I you stick with it or At least read your favorite parts again then it starts to get interesting and then you blood starts boiling and you want to read it morree ~ I'll stick with this manga cause it's cute and adventures ! ^o^

The art for this series is gorgeous just like this mangaka's other works. However the manga itself is kind of a letdown with hardly just barely any romance. The trying to potray the main character as strong, resilient blah is kind of a failure too because Anis can't do anything without the knights. I don't get the whole father being the big bad villain/mastermind too, its just too weird....
Rating of 8 for the art i loved it!

I gave up.
The plot and everything was good and all but I just couldn't continue, it just didn't grip me like other mangas did. But judging from the other comments, I guess you could give it a shot because you might like it.

I really enjoy this manga because it has decent art, and I love the characters personlities (especially tenjou?-sama's [the white rose]). I also enjoy a strong protaganist insead of the weak, "oh, I cant do anything myself so i just cry" kind of girl. I love love triangles, but sometimes the love triangle('s?) frusterated me. I'm guessing that she will probably end up with Kae-idiot (Kaede [the red rose]), but who knows maybe she'll end up with a totally random one like the yellow (or fake rose's) rose for example!

I don't know what wrong with all the people who are reviewing, because I think this is a great series and deserves a fair chance. And Don't think I'm just some crazy little fangirl, because the majority of my favorite manga's are all shounen battle/actions stories, so as someone who prefers shounen I think this is a pretty good manga...

The art is great and really pretty, but unique and not like every other shoujo manga, Shouoto has her own style.
The characters are good too, they each have their varying personalities and, since a lot of people seem to have a problem with her, I'd like to say that Anise (the main character) is pretty cool. She's strong, but not in a Mary Sue way, she's funny, and she isn't completely help less like amlot of other shoujo girls (like Yuki from Vampire Knight) and she's nice too.
There have also been some complaints about the amount of jokes in it, well that would be because its a COMEDY.
And the plot, firstly, the choker, despite the description, its NOT the main thing, its just a gateway to the ACTUAL plot. As for protecting her? Did you miss the bit where it turns out he LIED to her? Cause its mentioned that it was supposed to HIDE her from Ninufa and co.
The plot really isn't that bad, there are all these people who have only read like 9 chapters, can you really say the plot is bad when it hasn't completely developed yet? I don't thnk you should complain that much about things being unknown, its only being realistic and its shown that Sensei is keeping the truth from her.
As for character development, I think that isn't that bad either, especially for Tenjou, he seems like a funny, creepy, masochitic idiot that you love, but you see glimpses that he's actually pretty sadistic and knows more than the others too...

I don't want sound mean to those guys though, and maybe its just a clash of opinions, but if you want a nice, funny, not overfilled with way to much boring romance (but still with cute moments, its a good amount) then I think you should try it out. If you just feel like starting a new series than this is also good for you. But if you're looking for something overly stuffed with boring cliche romance and guys that look exactly like the girls (and each other) than this is not the manga for you, in fact, try reading Vampire Knight (sorry VK, the premise is nice, but its soooo boring, in fact, even the romance is kinda crap)

I'd give this an 8/10

This manga is okay. It isn't terrible, but it isn't that great either. The characters are extremely bland and generic. The main character is just plain dumb and somewhat annoying. And the plot is very episodic. There isn't much flow throughout the story, and the development of romance, well...there isn't any really. It seems like Anise will end up with Kaede, but the romantic development is just so slow. The only thing that kept me going with this manga was the the fact that there was one character in particular that was somewhat intriguing, Mutsuki. Also the drawings are really nice. Skip this manga unless you have nothing else to read.

After reading the comments for this manga, I was skeptical as to whether it was any good. Whether the plot was too cliche that it would bore me out of my mind. At first the chapters in the beginning were very cliche (the story is too) but it gets more and more interesting. You get to learn more about the Rhode Knights, and some of them do have a complex background stories. Although towards the middle of the story, you get really confused as to what the relationship between the father and daughter really is, it keeps you guessing. It does remind me a lot about cardcaptors (for some reason). Other than that, a decent read. I wouldn't say it's the best, but I definitely recommend people to give it a try and see for yourself. If you are a fan of SLH the author's other shoujo manga, you'll definitely love this one. In my opinion, this is better than SLH (which was slightly sappy for my taste).
