Description

Seme was hilarious, uke totally ruined it.

I really love yaoi comedies, and I love over-the-top characters.
The seme was interesting, because he wasn't your classic "calm, cool, collected, suave and sexy perfect-man". He was super overly-dramatic, and pretty feminine in his thoughts and actions. All of the expressions he made and things he said made me laugh.
Even his rival was pretty funny! With all the hilarity, I would have found this to make at least a decent comedy-romance...
Unfortunately, the uke is literally the worst character I have ever seen. I can tolerate characters with bad personalities that are whiny, or irritating, or crybabies, or scary... the reason this uke was the worst is because he had all the personality of a rock, and the character development of a brick wall.
He doesn't show any emotion whatsoever. Everyone does everything for him just because he's "pretty", and he doesn't lift a finger. When I started reading this, I thought "Oh, well his character will change, and maybe he'll have a rival and become a better person!"
But no. He's horrible through-and-through. He treats people like crap, he cheats on the seme (and then rubs it in the seme's face), and then he immediately gets all upset just because the seme was talking to one of his coworkers.
I could tolerate this awful character if he did any of these things with a mean expression on his face, or a hurtful comment here and there, but the most he ever says is "..." with the blank face of a porcelain doll.

I wouldn't recommend this, personally... but if like silly, super-dramatic semes and blank-face, robotic ukes with empty personalities, go ahead...

Start OK for a comedy but got worse

The uke cheated (sexually and career-related) on him with a loser. The he cries and the seme took him back. What a pair of pathetic and selfish couple!
Their love is weird. The idiotic seme loves him just for his look. The uke just a robot with no morals. Worst story ever.
Read it if you want some comedy but there is no fluffy love.

I think it would have been less annoying is this Itsuki kid showed more expression towards Moriya. I mean, its ok that moriya has this complete obsession with him just because he's good looking, however the lack of expression from the uke made it all the more frustrating. Moriyas expressions were very funny, but did he really have to be that way throughtout? Couldn't he be at least mad a little?
That said, even when he was treating certain things as a joke and overreating, i was hurting instead of him cos i felt that kid was just wraping him around his fingers.
Jeez mangaka san. Thanks but no thanks.

The idiotic hideous prancing scenes made me want to stop reading. Sometimes this manga was painfully embarrassing to the point where i cringed x__x Apart from the pansy prancing and the idiotic managers (yes, theres more than one, brace yourself) it wasn't too bad. It was enjoyable in a cringeful way and it was interesting how things developed i guess. Not bad, but the idiotic humour left a sour taste in my mouth for some reason.

I actually ended up with this one in a manga lot I bought on Ebay. This story was typical, and at times silly. The overwhelming desire Moriya has to serve is really silly and goes way overboard. Ouno is just a spoiled brat with a flat personality. The characters are so lifeless and boring that you don't really care if they get hit by a truck. There's no real plot. The dialog is so silly at times and just makes matters worse. The other short story The Barbaric Prince is actually better than the main story. It involves obsession too, but it isn't silly like the main story. This one is ok for a quick read, especially if you like silly stories. Personally, I don't. I like funny stories, but this just wasn't. Even the art was average.

Utterly ridiculous

I don't really dislike a lot of BL manga...but this one I just can't stand. I understand that it's supposed to be mostly comedy, and I don't really mind the exaggerated expressions, but the seme is so annoying with him always fretting over the uke like a programmed robot, and the uke has absolutely no emotions/thoughts/morals; I don't see development in their character or relationship, and the plot is so barely there that I can't find anything interesting at all.

In other words, I'll only suggest this manga to someone who likes really random, over-the-top stories with two-dimensional characters.

Start Elsewhere with this Quirky, Loveable Mangaka

Such fun, this lady! Araya-sensei has such quirky sense of humour and exaggerated reactions on the part of -usually- the pursuer. Her stories are very 'big' in the telling. I like it. It's like watching a bang-on cabaret!

This particular manga is less memorable than others by her, and I wouldn't recommend starting with this one. It is the only one that is available from an English publisher. If you like pure, crazy, ridiculous theatrics, check out We Are Gorgeous. If you like a bit more story -a bit more- alongside the over-the-top comedy, check out Will You Become My Wife or My Violent Boyfriend.

the emotions are exagerated. (spoiler) i really dont like that Itsuki sleeps with the guy that Moriya hates, i dont reallly understand why he did it, since he can sleep with Moriya whenever he likes. in the scene where Moriya sees them its way to dramatic, its weird seeing a grown man getting hysterical, i get being angry or sad, but his expressions and actions were over the top. but i guess thats what makes this mangaka so amusing.

In typical scenes, the art is technically good while lacking in emotions. However, when it comes to exaggerated emotional scenes, the characters become really expressive.

Though compared to some of Araya Miki's earlier works, it's like the better she got at art, the worse she became at conveying emotions.

Still, it's pretty funny though not as good as some other yaoi series are.
