I really like the story but somehow it just feel unfinished to me. It definitely need a sequel to continue the story to wrap up the loose end. The story was too short so you can't really get into Nanase's head and what he's feeling.

I didn't care for the instant attraction after they had already known each other for a while. The "half-assed rejections" were a bit over the top, too. The rest was fine for me, but I think I'm growing out of this type of simple story.

You know, I'm really, really addicted to sexual tension. But for some reason this didn't get to me. I don't know, maybe it's a little too predictable or too cliché. It's not like I didn't like it...on the contrary, it's rather enjoyable. But there's just something about it that doesn't make me care enough.

And isn't the description totally misleading?! Who the hell is straight in there?! I mean, what straight guy in the world would let another touch him, even if "just" for three minutes?!

The characters...well, there's not much character growth, though they are fairly well developed.
The thing I like best is Tsutsumi's "if you don't reject me, I won't hold back" attitude! Most semes would just be struggling over the fact that their ukes are stubborn when they haven't even been properly rejected. Also, he's rather simple-minded. It either is or it isn't, there's nowhere in between for him. I find that kinda sexy.
And I love Nanase's dub-con. Dub-con is hot. And he's quite active in bed too! At least he's not the uke who only lays there and spreads his legs. He does something and touches Tsutsumi back!

However, the pace of this...is almost like it's too perfect. Like there's no conflict at all, no resistance. It's weird.

Oh, the art is awesome and both the characters are very hot!
Anyways, I usually write pretty long reviews, and, for some reason, I can't say more about this manga. It's not particularly bad, I just didn't find it remarkable.

This story isn't bad, it's pretty average. I'm just used to better stuff from the author.

I don't discourage anyone from reading this, but this author does have works that are a lot better. I like the prequel better, too.

But I do like that both guys aren't in high school. I do get tired of high school stories.

haha if i were a boy maybe... aweh hell, even now im sure i could manage it! ^O^/

oh the moral struggles! the older brother made it seem so much more believable the the younger... the fighting it, the giving in, the surrender! Oh, hallelujah amen brother! yaaaa

OH - and the thing that really sets it apart from the others in this series, is that: if you put a dress on either of these guys neither of them could be mistaken for girls! ... well maybe in the face but otherwise i dont think so... like, i knew who was gonna be who (seme/uke) but it could have gone either way (they could sprout facial hair and have to shave at any time! omg!).... not like the younger brother, that shit was set in stone.

i love it, this has been a thing that i've noticed lately - i am liking the Spin-Offs more than the originals, i think its cos we are only slightly introduced to the characters and already kinda get what they're about yano? makes me love them more!!!!! and more-often than not my fave characters are the side characters, they always seem either more pessimistic or more fun! both are good for me hehehe

i was playing Russian roulette with my Complete List and this is the one i landed on, and i gottta say i still love it now - especially the facial features and the emotions on the face OH and for some reason the shirts - Fujiyama-sensei shirts hypnotize me... O... the shirts.......

Great story

A surprisingly enjoyable story. There's a charm to this story, a handling of emotion and tension and suspense that has inspired me to reread it several times over. The art is clean, the characters are well-developed and the plot--although trite at times--remains solid and intriguing. This is a typical love drama, but it's not overly predictable or dull, because it packs enough surprises to keep it refreshing and different from most other stories out there.

If anything, the one 'ridiculous' part is

the mention of the 'gay school' where no students were straight. That's the only detail that feels forced and unrealistic, which is funny because that's referencing the supposed "main" story this is inspired from. But this story stands on its own without its prequel, as a strong work that's more than worthy of your time.

Rakka Sokudo is one of Fujiyama-sensei's best works, and definitely one of my all-time favourite yaoi stories. It follows a simplistic storyline but doesn't disappoint due to the interesting characters and beautiful artwork. The boy-love aspects of this series are steamy, but tasteful. They're driven more by the atmosphere than graphic sex. For this one, I'd even recommend spending the money and buying the volume instead of downloading it. It's definitely a keeper.

Struggle and acceptance

The character's angsty internal struggle to accept his own sexuality and his partner is a recurring theme in many of Fujiyama Hyouta's manga's. I love this one as well because I can relate to the setting that this story has taken place. Work. Projects. After work drinks.

I don't know if it's because the characters are older, which makes me more comfortable, or if the mangaka peaked here, but Freefall Romance has several scenes that seemed extra steamy to me. Hot by situation more than through the art as this mangaka tends to draw above the waist 90% of the time. This is the middle book in a series of connected books, and it's my favourite. I still think the other related books are worth reading as well, but this one stands out! (review based on English language translation)

This mans struggle with his sexuality was so cute. His 'friend' was so sure but not to aggressive. The art has matured as well. Story was interesting to make me read it twice.
