Description

The story centers on two teenage boys with similar names - Tanaka and Nakata. They are also similar in almost everything, including height, test scores, sprint times, and favorite things. However, when one of them takes an interest in a girl, but sees the other one hanging out with her, a rift of frustration begins to form that slowly turns into sorrow.

pleasantly painful

i love a good slowburn and this definitely hits the mark. this whole story was so satisfying, even at the more painful parts, i feel like the author did a great job at letting us see what the mc was feeling throughout, without telling us directly, which makes sense because he probably didnt even know how he was feeling. the mc ended up falling in love with the ml somewhere along the line yet they stayed friends, which really added to the pain. there wasnt too much to the ending, it was one of those instances where it ends right after they get together, but its not unsatisfying somehow, theres tons of parallels toward the end so i got the feeling everything would totally work out for them. the only problem i have is that i seriously wish there were more.
