Description

In 18th-century England, Gabriel, an orphan girl from a fallen noble family befriended a young man named Jeremy, who was rumored to be an illegitimate child of a nobleman. After an incident occurred, resulting in his tragic death, Gabriel must impersonate her friend Jeremy, taking his place at an all boys academy for nobles, a place that may seem like heaven to others, but really hides a harshness which she would never have imagined.

I've not been so irritated by an ending EVER.

All-in-all, it's a typical high school gender bender, just set in 19th century England. Like many a female-male gender bender story, for some reason all the male characters look rather feminine, just as the art style. I've never really understood this (except to excuse why the girl can get away with it), so the art was pretty, but a little much. Those giant eyes just wore on me, too too much.

The story itself had some interesting parts, but could be rather nonsensical at times. It left you hanging too often, in an attempt - I felt - to create mystery. Rather it just annoyed me that things were told in such a round-about fashion. Hell, in the end I think the Duchess was my favorite character, and she was awful.

Even then, I could have come out and said it was okay if it weren't for those last two chapters. Ugh.

The art is gorgeous, and it got me sucked into the complex plot that kept me reading until just now. Gender-bending/crossdressing is usually not done well in stories, but this one made the most of it in the best ways possible. There's some potential shounen-ai hohay, but it's so beautifully depicted I wouldn't mind if some yaoi happened. 😉 *there was no actual homo-stuff, btw *

EVERYTHING WAS GREAT, UNTIL the end. Like, the ending is pretty happy and stuff (* well, happy but a bit unrealistic, rushed, and degrading for women*) , but the author made the mistake of killing off MY FAVORITE CHARACTER in the most retarded way possible--and then just brushing it off anti-climatically as if it never really happened. WHAT THE HECK 😕 That's not how someone ends a good story...

I really liked this Manhwa, the art was beautiful and the plot/story was so dark that I felt like it swallowed me. This manhwa had characters and storyline that fit my taste so I really liked it. It was mysterious, dark, angst, mad,bewitching, sad, exciting, intriguing and so much more. It made me love the characters, love their pasts, love what made them do the twisted actions they did, even for the characters you wouldn't like it at least made you sympathise with them. It was something that pretty much had all the stuff that I like in my Manhwas.

Now that I've somewhat finished all the praise I have for it, here comes my complaints. Like many have pointed out it was rather rushed. It was too confusing. Despite me saying how I love how this Manhwa had all the ideas and scenes I love to read in the opposite way you could say the author hurriedly crammed the manhwa full of them and some just didn't work that well. I found that this manhwa didn't really draw out my emotions despite all the things in it that should have, and I'm someone who shows my emotions a lot. I also second that the ending wasn't that satisfactory, I expected that it'd make me cry and I thought it would but it wasnt developed enough to make me do that which I found a shame. I liked the ending but it just feels like lower quality than the rest of the manhwa especially since it just felt like a while lot of time skips and non explained events. It was too rushed and confusing. The start as well, I didn't really get it at all at first!

I suppose to sum it up I love this manhwa yet it did disappoint me, not disappointing enough to make me feel like I wasted my time, no, I feel that it was worth my time. But yes it just left me feeling a bit empty and dazed. Well there's my mess of opinions.
To read it or not, the decisions in your hands~ XD

Good story but ...

Beautiful art and good story... I thought it was real good till i reached the last volume and the two last chapters , then it became average...

why did the author have to kill euan? I don't believe it!! in my opinion he was the best character in this story, I was hoping for gabriel and euan, not killing euan and sending her to Ray.
Somehow I wished ray would remember the past and go mad or run away or kill himself. unlike his brother he was a weak person...
It was sad to see euan sacrificing everything in his life for ray and at last even his life but I think it was one of the strengths of his character which made him seem more adult than his actual age.

Anyway, wish there was more to this story and it wasn't so rushed.

WHAT THE FCK!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! HE DIED?!

EUAN DIED?! GODDAMN -__- lol.

Gosh I'm so sad right now..it was a splendid story. I wish it was a little longer. But I'm really happy with the couple in the end. Actually I would have been happy if it was Jeremy x Euan or Jeremy x Ray. I just wasn't expecting someone to pass away 1 chapter before the final chapter. After all those hardships... >_> I really didn't care about the outside world or the other dilemmas. I just wanted to read more about her life in the school trying to get by as a boy and how the brothers showed their love for her, their jealous side, their playful side..etc. Sigh, this was my second time reading it..but now that the ending had hit me in a not-so-great way again..I don't want to reread it in the future 🙁

Rushed and confusing

It is a beautiful story, with nice characters, but it left me in a confused state, where I could not destinguish between them even at the end of manhwa. It is really rushed, with illogical plot twists and even romance is irregular. It is kinda sad, the ending does not bring any satisfaction.
Hovewer, The art is beautifull, and emotions are well displayed, and you can read it all in just a couple of hours. I personaly like gender-bender staff and manhwa, so it was just for me, but it does not compete with any decent manga out there. Still, I would like to thank scanlators for quality work.

So I have to say that I am completely satisfied =] OMG This was amazing!! When I had read Flowers of Evil I was upset that there wasn't a happier ending, but I'm glad that there was this time. Though I read comments about Euan, I can't say I agreed with them. He wasn't really a bad person at all!! I loved Jeremy/Grabriel.. So glad that things turned out well for her. But who would've thought that things would be like that!! Still don't understand Angela or Yvonne. But whatever. A must read. Go Now!!

Bad Ending

Putting aside the art I actually thought this story had more potential for plot development than the author's previous work Flower of Evil. However, the ending was a disappointment because she left so many unresolved issues.

We never found out about Gabriel's past before she became an orphan and Joshua was just left hanging at the end as well as the Duchess. In my opinion, the whole blackmailing thing the Duchess was doing against Gabriel was weak. It all fell apart when the Duchess gave up her goal leaving a mediocre plot/ending.

Didn't live up to its potential

I'm very disappointed in the way this story turned out. In the beginning, I was captivated by the story and the different relationships that were developing between the lead and the other characters. However, as the story progressed, the author failed to really develop these relationships and instead, filled the story with too many flashbacks and stories of side characters. Ultimately the story became disjointed and in the end, the conclusion was not satisfying at all. I'd give it a 5 (as in, take it or leave it) but the artwork is nice so it's a 6/10

This has potential but as the story continued it dwindled and dwindled into nothingness. Either the idea could not be expanded properly by the author/artist or it was just that, a simple idea that bores the reader.
