Description

Baek Ju In is a smart, diligent student and has a crush on Ham So Bok, another elite student. However, things start to go downhill when Ju In's twin brother, Baek Ju Yul, turns up to meet So Bok while pretending to be Ju In. What's worse, So Bok's best friend, Yu Lisa, doesn't seem to like Ju In one bit. How will it all play out?

Only 29 chapters that i have read. the plot right now is just starting so i can't go into full detail, but there's one thing viewers might now beable to handle that is

The Purple headed female was raped by her father (although this hasn't been fully explained as to how she was raped or if she was even raped at all since some of the aspects of her character suggest she might be fully stable or whatever)

so viewers might now be able handle this, so im just throwing this out, so you know what you're going into.
The romance is just starting so can't review that. but it seems promising. i suggest you wait still more chapters are out before reading it.

I haven't read a manga like this for a while now. A manga where the genre is purely romance and is influence very little by a Shounen or a Shoujo demographic. It's a manga that both guys and girls can enjoy which is very rare nowadays.

At first, I thought that this was gonna be like GE (Good Ending). I'm glad that I was wrong. Mango's Bone actually reminds me a lot of Bitter Virgin. Except, it is not as heavy and as pure as Bitter Virgin. The content of the story may seem heavy but there really isn't any explicit display to promote that heaviness. And unlike Bitter Virgin, the story move towards a righteous stance than a redemption stance. Using manga terms, Mango's Bone is more of an angst manga than it is an innocent manga.

I would highly recommend anyone who's a fan of romance manga to read Mango's Bone regardless of whether you are a Shounen or a Shoujo fan. It is definitely different from your typical romance manga nowadays.

Keep in mind, there is child rape in this story. She was in kindergarten when it happened. Just having read that part shocked me.

The female lead is written well. Her mom was horrible, her dad is a disgusting piece of shit that I hope gets killed, her grandmother is also trash. The only parental figure she knows is a guy her mother knew. I don't know what else I can say about her.

The male lead is the same old obnoxious kid who thinks that everything works out for the best in the end. Which interestingly works for this story. He does mature near the middle part.

The best person in this story is no doubt the guy who takes care of the female lead. I have nothing but respect for him.

I loved the author's other work (Happy If You Died was awesome!) and I thought I would like this one too. But nope, I didn't like this story and couldn't bother to finish (I only read up to ch. 13) -- which I'm surprised about, because I usually like all or most romance shoujo webtoons or manga. And Gold Kiwi Bird draws amazing too!

Perhaps it was because I didn't like any of the characters' personalities, or I didn't like the premise of the story. I respect the author, so this is just a matter of my personal opinion that I didn't want to continue reading. I'm sure it's a good read, just not for me.
