LMAO...How dumb can you really be? Just because One Piece isn't my favorite shonen manga makes it clear that i don't read it? How exactly did I make it clear? Was it during one the parts where I said I read 30+ volumes? That must be it. If you're trying to discredit me, maybe using quotes from my response would be valid but since I didn't say that maybe that's why. You know what doesn't make sense? Your whole response. Another thing dumbass, I never watched the anime, I onlly read the manga. After all this is a manga forum. Good day sir and never respond again unless you actually have something wise to say. Alright, first of all I will spend more time typing this out becuase of your lengthy response. Well done, a round of appaluse for you. Now to defend myself. First of all, notice that I gave the manga a six. In reality it should be closer to a seven because while it is not anything amazing, it is no way a poor manga. One of major reasons I'm writing a review about One Piece is due to the fact that I deem it unworthy of such popularity. I consider it one of the current big three along with Bleach and Naruto. While Bleach and Naruto have faults as well, I believe them to be superior to One Piece and the point of rating mangas are to compare them to others.
I do have to apologize for not spending enough time on my critique of the manga. You're attacking me by saying I haven't read the manga at all. In reality I've read about 30+ volumes until I decided not worth the time spent reading due to the predictable outcomes of battles with Luffy. I'm talking about how he always gets stuck unable to participate in the battles until the very last second when he frees himself and knocks out the main enemy. I made a big mistake by using the word gomu gomu no mi instead of the devil fruit. The terminology escaped me at the moment and I made a mistake. A name mistake does not automatically confirm that I have not read the manga. I have and for you to conclude otherwise when you yourself no have proof is foolish. So let's put that behind us.
So going on with the devil fruit, I believe Luffy's stretching abilities have lost significance due to the abilities of many others. He is really nothing special in terms of what everyone else can do but he is rather powerful by defeating all his enemies. At first I was amused by his ability but after realizing almost everyone had some special ability, I felt the uniqueness wore off quite a bit. Sure, he is the only one who can stretch but hopefully you get my point.
My use of the word lame with the characters might be been slightly exaggerated but most of them are not memorable. Maybe it's because the main character Luffy, while a good guy and all, isn't as cool as let's say Goku or Ichigo. So just because I say there is only one memorable character, automatically my opinions are wrong because it's the same with all action shonen?
You say I should not insult the users here. I would not insult users that are still in elementary school and middle school because they can like whatever they want really. But it is difficult to tell exactly what age group every user falls under. When there are comments saying the manga is perfect in every possible way, I can't help but debate that. No manga is perfect. Some come close to perfection but a manga that is perfect in every way, no.
I understand you are attacking me because One Piece is your favorite Shonen Jump. Very selfless of you isn't it? I have my opinions and you have yours. Obviously you're a big fan of One Piece. I had great expectations for it but they weren't fulfilled. My major complaints were the overabundance of people who had special abilities and the fact that most of the battles turned out to be quite similar. Of course this happens to many shonen jump mangas but because most people are at fault, you're giving this manga a free pass? I still believe this manga is overrated. I am not hating on it simply because I'm bored and have nothing to do. Out of the big three, this was the weakest manga. But as of right now Bleach is getting worse along with Naruto so I don't really know anymore. I was just throwing my review out there but you decided to take it more serious than I meant it to be taken. So besides the fact that you think I didn't read the manga because of the gummy fruit what else do you have in ruining my credibility. I'm not the one who LOVES One Piece. I'm simply an unbiased manga lover who wants to see another great manga and not just the prolonged, money milker they have in the manga that is known as One Piece.
