Description

Sachie Wakamura just lost her mother, and her estranged grandfather has shown up to take care of her. The only problem is that Grandpa is the head of a yakuza gang! Sachie tries to continue living her normal life, but she can't run far since Rakuto, one of the most popular guys in school, is part of her grandfather's gang and her new protector. Soon, Sachie finds herself falling for her bodyguard. But she's the granddaughter of Rakuto's boss, so she can never show her feelings for him. Can Sachie find a way to fit into her new family and seize her chance at romance?

While I was reading it, I couldn't put it down. Stepping back from it, however, I find it lacks a certain sparkle. The characters don't seem to be fully * there*. There just seems to be something lacking in their makeup. Having said that, I did find the main character's personality a nice change from the typical shoujo heroine, but it was inconsistant throughout the series.
Overall, I found this a refreshing manga, and one that I will read to the end. The characters are all nice, and it is comical in places. Sadly it just misses that magical element

I came across Gold Rush 21 not so long ago and was amazed by it, so I thought I should check out the author's other works too. But honestly, this did not impress me. It was cute and innocent and all, but at the same time too naive and neither emotion- nor thought-provoking. I wish that there were more characters' growth and interactions, because really, I felt like I knew close to nothing about them even after ten freaking volumes. Honestly, I didn't like it, but it was not unlikable. Just not my thing, I guess.

I found the plot interesting so I read it. The art is so-so, typical shoujo-ness and it doesn't really stand out. The plot's quite interesting but somehow the story flow is slow paced. Nothing life changing for the characters happen but more like they're the ones who "change" people. Halfway through it's as if Azuma and the mangaka forgot about the existence of the postcard. I know bringing it up quite often without any results or change of the characters' view would get annoying but heck, the characters didn't really change probably aside from Rakuto's view about their master-servant type relationship.

Cute story between a body guard and the granddaughter of a yakuza boss. Art is okay. Feel like it could be a little more romantic, yet it's still good. Both main characters are like able, with Rakuto always helping Sachie when she does something bold that doesn't always end well. 🙂

a breeze

Sweet and fun ^^ I only got a little disappointed with the end. I sure wanted something more lovely-dovey. Still,it was a good ending.
Oh! And going through these 10 vols was a breeze. Pretty amazing for its length. Ah! And it reminded me of Hatori Bisco's work at times, which is probably a reason why I felt so at ease reading it.

Although it's the typical shoujo, i really really liked this manga! It went by so fast that i feel sad it's over now =(.. I do agree with the other's about how it could have been better. I mean there's so many situations the mangaka could've played with but nevertheless, it was a great read =). Awesome! 😀

Please dont' compare this manga to Ouran Host Club or Gokusen. Wakamura Sachie is totally different from Haruhii or Kumiko. Arakure, on the inside, is just another shoujo consists of a girl pinning after a guy, a handsome and popular and smart guy, but afraid to tell him due to whatever reasons. Then angst follows.

Rakuto is the hero character type that I wish I could read about more often these days - he's kind, considerate and absolutely devoted to Sachie's happiness and general well-being. Add to that the fact that he's a type of caretaker/bodyguard to her, it ticks all the master-servant trope boxes too. Sachie, for her part, is thankfully emotionally tough, more given to taking charge of a depressing situation than sitting around waiting.

It tickled me pink when Rakuto pulled the usual shoujo "will you wait for me" speech and she turned it around, saying she'd rather work to catch up with him so would he mind doing the waiting instead? Of course, she's also pretty dense as with most shoujo heroines, but I'd prefer denseness to the type who's constantly overcome with jealousy over her princely love interest.

The series was excellent as a bit of cutesy, frothy fun for about 8 volumes, but I do think it should've stopped at that point rather than dragging out Rakuto's cannot-spit-it-out problem and Sachie's denseness for another two volumes. It's the sort of trope that creates a lot of cute moments for a while, but gets tiresome when overdone, and I would've rated this higher had it not overstayed its welcome.

I liked it at first but my problem with it was Sachi. She was just too perfect of a heroine. To me, I feel as though she didn't really grow at all. All her strong moments seemed really random and I didn't like it because it didn't really click with the way her character was. Like kichiX said, her personality was inconsistent throughout the series. It was an easy read. I'd recommend it if you're bored.

This was the first manga i've ever read, and what can I say? I simply love it, and I wished is continuation, but the story ends well, and that was what I wanted. I love the plot, those Yakusa guys that are really all butter hearts, the love than Rakuto has for Sachie, and the way Sachie's really dumb, really, she is the most dumb character of all time, always thinking Rakuto was being so nice to her only because he was her guardian xD but she has a really strong personality and that is really adorable ^^ I just love the fact that they were they first love. It's really a awesomely cute story 😀
