Description

Lena Ha is a beautiful and a tough girl who is the captain of the kendo team. She meets Hye-Min Kang, the son of the president of a big company in Korea, and the two seem to fall in love at first sight.

What I really enjoyed about this manga was the art. It was all done very well. The story had some pretty interesting twists that kept you coming back for more. I did feel as if the ending was rushed.

There are so many types of stories that have a person from our world traveling to another that they begin to blur together. This is not one of them.

Lena (who goes by Ley to hide her gender) is a total bada$$. She is blunt and will tell you the truth, even if it hurts. I find her character to be refreshing. I think that Lee did a beautiful job in presenting us a character that would accurately show us how anyone would have acted.

Lena is suppose to be "The Chosen One", "The Saver", etc. Yet when she first gets to that world, all she could think about was what she wanted: revenge against the stepmother who kill her mother and friends. She doesnt believe in fate and she doesnt care if she was the foretold one. She only cares about herself...and isnt that what we humans do best? its in our nature to be selfish.

Yet as time goes on, people are drawn to her as she is drawn into their conflicts. Before she realizes it, she begins to care. She begins to want to save this pitiful land from the Mad Queen.

Most people would find this story to be boring but i see this as a realistic representation of what would happen to one of us if we were transported back to another world. I have a love and hate relationship with the ending. I love how the artist made Lena show fear as she watched her friends be slaughtered in front of her. It made her seem more human, more relatable. What i didnt like was the that luke-warm, half-a$$ed ending. There should have been one final chapter, an epilogue, to show what happened at the end.

It would have been nice to see if she did return to see her true parents, if she did become Queen of Kabul, if she did end up marrying Lucien, what happened to Brenna and the baby

Overall I enjoyed it and will be looking for similar mangas to read

The scanlations for the first few chapters are not the best, but they get better. Also, the first three chapters are just the background for the main character, past that the story is completely different. This is one of my favorite Shoujo and has a similar feel as Basara.

Not my favorite. The build up was so slow..same with the romance. You never actually connect with the characters. They literally float by you. Sorry but this one was quite boring :/

In a fantastical epic sort of way. I think you have to really like war plot stories sorta like Red River but with a lot less romance. I don't really think that was he best manga to compare it to but it was one of the first to pop into my head in comparison. Idk It's ending is pretty good I just wish it was less open ended concerning the main characters and what happens to them.

Initially, I found the story to be heading in a weird direction(her 'modern' life) but when the story developed, it was really great and everything. But I personally felt that the ending was indeed rushed.. And I also wanted to see the King's and Lena's love blossoming... After all it's still a romance and shoujo(?) manhwa...

Amen to that.

The end of the manhwa is basically SCREAMING "Yeah, yeah, we got axed ! Life is a b*tch."

So here you go, what could have been an awesome development on 4 or 5 volumes became a 2-chapters-long sprint. I didn't know it had been axed before I read it, so I was basically thinking WTF IS HAPPENING during the whole last volume. And I'm still thinking it's too bad. It could have been great till the end.

Regarding the rest of the story, I think it was fairly good. Not mindblowing, but very enjoyable. And, honestly, the heroin is kinda epic, and totally refreshing...
Damn ! I was actually looking forward to the new releases when I was reading it. Damn you manhwa-axing-committees ! (whatever that may be...)

I would've liked an extra chapter at the end. One that rounded everything off, that told you a bit about all the characters' lives after the war had ended and what they were doing. Most of all I would've liked to see more of Ley and Lucien after they got together.
Ley at the beginning is tough; she's cold, cool and know's what she's doing. She's ruthless and doesn't help others if that would harm her, which is a refreshing and realistic change from the heroine who likes to help everyone. Her character stays that same throughout the manga and for that I am glad.
After reading the comments I was expecting the ending to be really rushed. It was but it didn't really ruin the whole novel.

I thought how the author ended the series, with Ley going back to our world and letting go of her feelings of revenge and her love for her half-brother-turned-not was good. It meant that when she decided the stay in the other world it was a peaceful decision and one that was not forced or heart-rendering. And overall I liked how it was done.

I see that I am not the only one, when I say that I sometimes had absolutely no idea of what was going on. When starting on a long manga/manhwa series, I am quite careful about writing down the names of all characters, so that I don't get confused. But with this one...That just didn't work. 😛 Hahahahaha! There are so damn many good looking guys with long hair, it's amazing. Problem is, for a very long time you just can't tell one from another.

I really was hooked for the first two volumes, then suddenly there was this crazy introduction of too many kingdoms and too many characters at once. You really have to write down EVERY side character's name down, or else it will kick you right in the nuts later on (which is quite the wrong use of words, since it will mostly be females that read Saver). For some time, in the middle of the series, I considered dropping it because it was so confusing, but I just stubbornly kept on reading. Luckily I began enjoying the manhwa again for the last five volumes (still, that equals that I didn't particularly enjoy 10 out of the 17 volumes). Then things began making sense, just a bit.

Saver works best when the plot takes place at the same location for some time, for instance in the beginning at the school or at the queen's castle later on.

Ah, the characters are also mostly built up by what their occupation is, or what tribe they belong to or what tragedy they've been through, but really, you don't think too much about the flatness of the characters while reading it.

To sum it up, this manhwa confusing as hell, so you better carefully write down all the names (and the haircuts of the persons, since that is the only way for you to tell them apart), and it has it's ups and downs - but it's okay. If you're lacking on stuff on your to-read-list, just give it a shot.

Response:

There is only a very mild incest theme for the two first volumes, and later on you find out that they aren't even siblings, which is quite the common twist in shoujo manhwas/mangas. Please read it completely before making a review from only that tiny bit of the plot.

(note: the quality of the scans also vary a lot, so be prepared to stumble upon at least 5-7 volumes of LQ)

I really enjoy this series; it's fantastic! the main character suffers a lot in the beginning (I wasn't fond of the beginning but not because she was suffering) and throughout the series. i vote for Lucien although that might change- only read 6 volumes...but...exactly how old is he?
