Freezing started somewhat decent. I used to like the female lead Satellizer because she was the type of character to beat anyone who will get in her way. Just like her title, the 'Untouchable Queen'.
The first arc was rushed and despite that there is a threat called Nova, the author dedicated 5 volumes to 'cat-fights'. Almost every Pandora was against Satellizer and they were trying to bully her cause of her bad reputation. Not to mention that Kazuya Aoi was doing NOTHING, even if he showed an interest in Satellizer. And the school-- What kind of system is this? Letting one of the students getting bullied so much and even if the supervisors witness it, they do not punish the bullies? Then for only 1 volume, the author is making the Nova to appear while wasting the others to meaningless fights.
The second arc,
went more 'private' by introducing us Satellizer's twisted brother who had a complex with her. In this arc, Satellizer becomes very weak and she becomes the toy of her brother without resistance. Where the old good badass Satellizer went? The second arc totally ruined her image and Kazuya tried to save her... a little. Saying random melodramatic words like it's some sort of a shoujo manga.
And the third arc,
has taken more of a Claymore/Neon Genesis Evangelion direction with a new project of Pandora and various conspiracies. Kazuya and Satellizer barely appear and whenever they appear Satellizer is an all-happy girl who does not mind to be touched by other girls. Now the author has introduced more and more characters and he focus on a new girl called Amelia who is somewhat like Miria but without her excellent leadership skills. Somewhat better compared to the second arc but still very flawless.
In the end it feels like the Nova isn't that much of a threat but rather the other Pandora and the headquarters.
The characters are poorly developed besides Satellizer. Most of the Pandora are just there for a fight and later they disappear. And don't make me start about Kazuya, he is just pathetic.
Some of the characters look alike too. There are like 3 girls who look like Satellizer, other 3 who look like Ganessa, etc. And it's funny how girls of this kind are able to protect the mankind. The author is just selling his heroines for fanservice, unlike the author of Claymore.
