Description

Kaizaki Arata is a 27-year-old, out-of-work man who has failed at each and every job interview he has had after quitting his last company where he only lasted three months. His life changes after he meets Yoake Ryou of the ReLife Research Institute, who offers him a drug that can change his appearance to that of a 17-year-old again. Taking the drug, he becomes a subject in a one-year experiment in which he begins his life as a high school student again.

Until then its badly paced with insignificant character and plot progression.

But man, chapters 50-51 show that our MC is surprisingly mature, for somone in a harem manga this is a godsend. I finally have high hopes for this manga lets hope the mangaka doesnt dissapoint

Loving it thus far. Really love it--MC is a fresh of breath air from the stock characters whenever it comes to going back in time. He gets along well and gathers a lot of friends, and he is a genuinely caring person who asks after others, and though he claims he wants a simple and quiet life, he goes out of his way to help them or to talk something out with them. He's a good friend, and I really want to see how the main plot (which is him getting turned into and pretending to be a high school student and maintaining the secrecy) interlocks more with the subplots of other characters developing around him.

As for anyone who's going by ejusdemgeneris's comment on the barring for human rights violations: Please calm down. It's a manga. Sure, its premise is that he took a drug that is essentially human experimentation and other aspects, but the human experimentation thing is just...really an occassional plot point that comes in. If you do have a problem with this because of those elements (which frankly are played in a comedic light and aren't actually anything bad or scary), you need to remember this is a comedy manga with a nonrealistic situation anyway where a guy gets turned into a high schooler. I'm frankly curious to learn more about the original Subject No. 001, actually.

The MC is actually pretty keen and perceptive (despite being the walking comic gag of the classrom, with cliche like sucking at studies). All the characters are a bit simplistic in their personality, but character development is actually pretty good (especially in the last chapters). It feels light, sometimes a bit slow, but refreshing and natural in its development.
Not the best work ever, but still much better than 90% of high school mangas...

A ramshackle of a work (chap. 10)

The plot is interesting, but can't hold its ground for many flaws. The MC does not think nor act like any normal 27y.o. Heck, he should have the least common sense to anticipate, instead of (over)exaggerating every situation after taking that pill. It need not be said that he became 10 years younger due to some FU-that's-why plot device. However, his way of taking on the situation so far is tantamount to blind acquiescence so that the author could just force a funny albeit unoriginal event. Surely, fiction should not even fictionalize the reasonable diligence common folk possess. Did the MC really learned anything from just being an adult? I hope he did, because even a cryostatic man for 10 years fare better than him.

The experiment itself should be barred for multiple human rights violation, felonies(if punishable in that world), including but not limited to: stalking; right to privacy; right to correspondence; liberty of abode; and many more.

Overall, this work will definitely crumble passed the plot's raison d'etre.

The concept is interesting but the pacing of the story is absurd. 20 Chapters in an we are still on day 1. There is a distinct lack of content in the chapters and no, its not compensated with great art sighs Atm its a badly told slice-of-Life where nothing happens.

Some new ideas to high school do-over

Its a high school do-over manga with a twist.
Our MC is a job seeker in his late 20's who is not having much luck finding new employment.
He is not your typical neet/otaku/loser who we usually see in these types of manga as the flashbacks suggest that he had a falling out at his old work place that has led to his current predicament.
Instead of going back in time, our mc takes a drug as part of shady experiment which returns his physical appearance to a teenager. He is then enrolled as a high school senior with a watcher who has also taken a drug who keeps an eye on him.
The humor of the series lies in the difficulty the mc has in adapting to be a high schooler again, i.e. he carries smokes with him as habit, his memory of school level curriculum is poor and his erratic reactions to his teenage classmates.
So far our mc has shown to be incapable of using his adult experience to any benefit for himself but he has managed to have a positive effect on those around him e.g showing appreciation for the diligence of the young homeroom teacher who feels that she is not taken seriously because of her age. Also befriending the antisocial Hishiro.

The main downside as people have mentioned is that the pace of the manga is slow and a lot of the chapters are uneventful.
