Description

Harley thought that marriage would be her ticket out of the Ernst household and away from the family's three sons, aka her perpetual tormenters. But on the eve of her wedding, she's transported back in time 20 years to a youth she'd hoped to forget. As long as she's getting a second chance at childhood, Harley's determined to stand up to her bullies. But what began as retaliation quickly turns into reconciliation as both Harley and the Ernst brothers come to understand each other's pain.

Loved the beginning. A heartwarming yet heartbreaking story of four kids. Fighting, reconciling, drifting apart and finding each other again. (Like stated in other reviews, it just goes down hill) Becomes more of a light-hearted, reverse-harem story later (for majority of story, unfortunately)

Romance between Harley and Eugene is just very cliche. FL is flustered and blushes as the ML confidently flirts, chuckling at her embarrassed exclamation. And what is with the ML constantly patting the FL on the head like you would do to a child?!!

Also, yes, the main couple were raised as brother and sister…In fact the reason the FL was taken in was because she looked so similar to the ML’s dead sister…sooo…

Seriously 😑 Why couldn’t they just make it a romance between Harley and Johannes (or literally anyone outside the family) instead? So we wouldn’t get this brother-sister romantic relationship thing ———

The end storyline, trying to tie in Harley’s birth family just doesn’t work timeline wise. Harley lived in a noble house (House Charlotte) but her parents were killed and house set on fire by Lenold, who framed the family for the attack on the Ernst duke and duchess. But Harley was taken in by the duke and duchess before they died in an accident. That accident only happened afterwards. Even accounting for the fact that in the first timeline, they died around a year earlier, it still doesn’t make sense.

... but I didn't like where it seemed it was heading after the time skip (after ch34), so I read some reviews and decided to drop it @ch46. Life is too short to waste time on mediocre stories.

Disappointment and EW

I hate that I read this series, firstly the 4 rating is purely because the artist did a great job. I feel like along the way the author lost the plot and just overall hope no one else has to read this work. I blame my own stubbornness in having completed this. Story wise the familial relationships that could have been explored had this author not chosen to go the incest route could have been really entertaining. The main characters goal shifted upon going back to past (as most FL’s tend to do in these types of stories) into one of forgiveness towards her brothers and hope to be a real family. I repeat, hope to be a REAL FAMILY. Not only does the plot choices taken by this author destroy the characters own logic but further proves her original fear that her adopted family never truly cared for her. The FL is adopted into the family at a young age as a replacement for the daughter the couple lost. The couple treat her well and as her own person giving her love and support where they can while still a bit oblivious to their sons feelings over the matter. I went into this blind but checked the tags at around ch.12. With that knowledge I got from the tags I continued on because it’s not often I find completed series and didn’t want to search for another. Along the way this story tries to setup the future romantic relationship in a way that is naive and playful. The relationship is purely one based on their childhood trauma and subsequently the ML’s overprotective ness over his “family”. My point is the FL’s one goal is get her family to love and respect her as the adoptive daughter she is BUT the ending betrays that fully as well as sends the message that she truly was never one of them nor could she ever be. If this was played as a tragedy that it actually is it would have been wonderful.

Can't get into the brother-sister thing

I failed to see the step siblings relationship tag before I started reading. At some point, I realized where this was heading and had had it on my reading list at ch 72. Tried to pick up from where I left and it was an immediate nope after reading a few more panels. Dropped but will give it credit since it did keep me reading till ch 72.

The ml liking the girl that looks like his real sister is just straight up weird, and to make it worse she lived her first life’s years as his sister it’s gross how she managed to fall in love. Justice for 2nd ml I’m still baffled he lost to her brother. Anyways plutus’ writing in general is bad and filled with odd things that the story could live without. The art is the only thing saving this story, it’s just uncomfortable to read.

I’m sorry to athy and every other wmmap character that’s living in the same universe as these characters….

Started great went down hill fast

I don't know how I read as far as 80+. Maybe I was hoping it'll get better and remember how it started, but it definitely doesn't. As other people said, just stop at chapter 33. Everything up to that point was great and interesting. Everything after that is unoriginal cliché romance drama, and it never gets better. Save yourself hours of wasted time and stop at chapter 33.

Becomes contrived

It’s great in the first 30 or so chapters as a family drama. It gets a bit boring in the middle because there is no true enemy until about chapter 60ish or so.

So onto the main controversy, the main love pairing is the duke and his adopted sister. The only way I’ve found I can stomach the sibling love pairing is to headcanon that the FL, Hari, doesn’t look like the dead little sister Arina at all (besides having silver hair).

Most of the time the ML, Eugene, is away from the family and has only lived with the FL for a year. In that year he never acknowledged Hari as his sister, so they didn’t grow up together as siblings. (The younger brother Erich on the other hand though...)

Now that that’s out of the way (although I truly understand if this isn’t enough and people still drop it after chapter 30ish), onto the rest of the story:

Mostly it’s just waiting for Eugene and Hari to fess up to each other. A new antagonist appears out of nowhere in like chapter 50, but she’s mostly just annoying until...

she kidnaps the FL right under her bodyguard’s nose. Seriously Ethan/Edan/Bishop/whatever your name is, you can carry a poisoned woman. Instead you just let her pass out on the floor. She could’ve died from that. What kinda bodyguard even are you. Lame.

Came after reading Plutus's other work, ''who made me a princess'', because i loved that one, but it seems in this work he abandons the family relationship altogether and goes straight for the lame romance plot. It got boring really fast from that point on and i am still debating if i should continue reading or nah. Some people like to have the focus on romance (for some reason they think love is all that matters in this world), i like it to be in the background, it's there, it's important, yet, it doesn't bother you.
All in all you could give it a shot but don't get your hopes up. For what it's worth, up to chapter 25-30 is quite nice to read.

Starts strong, then goes from bad to worse (Just stop at Ch 33)

It's hard to rate this as it's basically two stories. The first is an interesting story (I'd give it an 8 or 9) about an abused woman forced to relive her horrible childhood and making the best out of it, taking her adult understanding of the situation to emotionally support and develop familial bonds that didn't happen the first time around. It's a story of love overcoming hate, compassion healing trauma, and finding family.

This story wraps up at chapter 33, and I think a lot of the high ratings for this series come from prior to this point. And when I say wraps up, I mean chapter 34 could have been an epilogue and it'd stand as a completed series.

I was really shocked to see it listed as Ongoing and that it was up to chapter 59. So I thought, hey, maybe with her future knowledge there's some big reveal or plot twist or other main event that the FL can take on and succeed at this time around now that she's solved the family issue with her brothers. Nope. This is literally an extended epilogue, set six years later, where the FL is now a Mary Sue and beloved by absolutely everybody in the kingdom. The conceit of the series is moot - the brothers adore her and treat her like a goddess now, and since she's a teenager the whole deal of her being mentally an adult is no longer odd, she just comes across as being a mature teenager. All the characters are one-dimensional caricatures that simple do and say the same things every time they appear. The only drama left is whether the FL will romantically get together with her engaged older stepbrother, which is gross (they grew up together as family from the time she was 7, and she's still only ~15-16 in this life while he's in his 20s, and the age difference might only be excused since she was originally 27, but he doesn't know that so ewww), but also intensely boring. There's nothing at stake at all. The FL has any number of genuinely good suitors, any of which would make her happy. She literally could be the next queen if she wanted to be. The older brother is stoic and reserved but lucked into an arranged marriage with a kind, generous, beautiful woman. He probably could come to love her if he could put aside his incestuous feelings for his adopted younger sister, but this is a story that seems to be on the side of getting the two of them together.

If you don't care about the gross incest elements I'd rate this part a 2, because it's still just an incredibly boring Mary Sue story with no stakes. If the incest bothers you, I'd give it a 1 and say absolutely don't read past 33. Just take the knowledge that everything turns out perfectly okay for everybody and it's like a smorgasbord of fairytale happy endings.
