What a sharp and original story this is, with stunning art no less. And my favorite thing about this series, aside from nearly everything detailed and conceptually, is the main character. Li Chang Ge is a calm and collected genius, otherworldly at times but still human in the most delicate of ways. Good characters can never make you feel the same kind of admiration and respect that great characters do, and Li Chang Ge, the protagonist, is one of the greats.

In the beginning I admit to being pretty confused (the prelude mostly), as names of emperors, generals and royal families were in every single panel, in fact I probably need to reread quite a bit. Yet the historical content in itself is fantastic and done so well, I do not find it boring and admire its complexity. Don't be intimidated!

Romance: Definitely not needed for a main character as independent as this, but there are trace hints that do make the fangirl inside me ooze flowery joy. Let the ships sail.

This series will definitely become well known one day. One of the strongest and yet most realistic female leads I've ever seen combined with great character development throughout the story.
A well crafted plot with lots of turns, solid art (except for the prelude, i wonder why) and intriguing characters... can't wish for much more.

I can't believe that I almost skipped this gem because I saw that it had only one chapter out.

Turns out, there is around 4 volumes worth of chapters already scanlated. :/

But this manga is really really good. The characters personalities are well-crafted and explored within this manga. So far, the plot of seems really solid, and although I can probably guess the direction it's moving in, no hints is given about the final outcome, which, to be honest, makes it even more attractive for me.

Even though this is set during the Tang Dynasty, there isn't much of those scenes where the main character is useless because of her gender. Gender, you'll realise, doesn't really factor much into this manga. Capable women are popping up all over the place, including the MC of this story.

So, read this! Those who like Strong MCs with character development won't be disappointed.

The manga is one of my favorites and is a MUST read!!!!!!!! If your looking for strong female lead this is the one fo you. Even the other characters are strong and you really enjoy learning more about them. The main character can take care of herself and is truly a leader. I've read other manga where the mc is supposed to be strong but always saved by a man but this is defiantly not . After reading Basara and other manga with female lead I was looking forever to find a manga with a strong (not a fake strong) female lead and FINALLY I found it. I really hope it doesn't end at volume 6(so far that's where everyone says it ends) because this is something I can read for a long time!!!!

even though there are only a few chapters out the story is quite good and the characters are very interesting.
If you like chinese history and military tactics kind of manga, this one is truly recommended 😀
