Having read Pandora Hearts I looked at other manga by this mangaka, finding and reading this one. And while this short little work can in no way stand up to Pandora Hearts it is in its own way very good and unique and an enjoyable short read and, though it will be, it shouldn't be compared to Pandora Hearts.
Plot- The plot centers around an organization called Crimson-Shell and their struggles to capture the Black Roses, of course it doesn’t stay just that simple as betrayal and secrets are entered into the plot, then it because more of a mystery. The plot is quite well rounded, but being so short not everything is as fleshed out as it could be, but that doesn’t mean things aren’t explained. The ending is a bit open but its still a good ending. All in the entire plot was very enjoyable and unique.
Characters- They were all very nice characters, well rounded and each with their own personalities. Some were very nicely fleshed out and you could understand why they acted the way they did, the relationships between the characters were also quite nice.
Art- Compared the mangaka’s current art this art isn’t as good, but it is still good. The backgrounds are nice and the characters are nicely drawn. The character designs however are quite similar to the character designs of Pandora Hearts, and though I don't want to compare Crimson-Shell to Pandora Hearts I realize many fans of Pandora Hearts will step back to read Crimson-Shell and will notice this. The character designs however are still nice and unique in their own ways.
Other- All in all it is quite an enjoyable read and is actually quite good for such a short work, I definitely recommend this to any Pandora Hearts fans but also to anyone else.
7/10 – Really liked it
