The best yaoi I ever read - this manga is what made me read yaoi in the first place. Great plot, chemistry, characters, etc. Desperately waiting for more releases!!!!

The glasses guy is supposed to be homophobic, but that didn't look like homophobia to me at all. Of course, I don't expect him to be a total jerk about it or something, but he looked more like a tsundere instead of a homophobic e_e
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Srsly tho, rape right in the second chapter?!!!!!! No thanks, rape isn't something to be taken lightly like that. ugh

Totally unrealistic tbh, already dropped after reading the third chapter.

One of the most disappointing pieces not just for its content (yup, sorry rape apologists, but 'no means no' and even if a dozen volumes later the victim succumbs to his stockholm syndrome and thinks he's fallen for his rapist, HE WAS STILL RAPED) but for the fact that it's brought out so much disgusting responses in its defenders. Morinaga's up there with some of the worst characters in BL--because he's the type that's woobie and adorable and makes you want to cuddle him, lulling people into this false sense of security where you forget what a HORRIBLE friend he was, taking advantage of the person he loved when they were vulnerable and he KNEW they didn't want it--AND THEN EMOTIONALLY BLACKMAILING THE GUY INTO STAYING WITH HIM.

Legitimately one of the worst things to hit BL fandom in a long while. So fricking glad it's coming to an end.

This was one of the first yaoi I've ever read (years ago) and despite many attempts at catching up to the story ever since, I have never been able to read this story without giving up eventually. It's just completely unrealistic, the way they act and on top of that their relationship is completely unhealthy. Many people have been over the reasons why, so I won't go over that.Takanaga Hinako is a talented mangaka, the manga isn't bad, not really. If you can get over the flaws and attitudes of the characters, you will probably enjoy the series a lot. If you can't (like me), or if you dislike reading stories with rape (like me...) then you're better off staying away from this manga.

Entertaining for a while, then collapses into an endless deluge of smut

To be frank, it was rather entertaining for a while since such a concept seemed rather interesting: a gay man who's pining for his good friend, and his good friend who's slowly started to acknowledge him. And it had quite a few funny moments, too.

Alas, the writing was good for a while(the tension and characterisation for example), then it collapses into some endless deluge of "smut". Except that her "smut" isn't even the slightest bit steamy and it was rather frustrating seeing a little progression, followed by much more stonewalling and random sex scenes
Spoiler (highlight to view)
(usually having the gay man "forcing" or "baiting" the other guy into sex).

Inevitably, I think such a "coupling" seems much harder to write. Seriously, I'd have preferred her simpler storylines as her writing was far stronger in them. As it is, this title has even slower plot progression than all-smut manga. At least, they get to the "meaty" parts fast(yes, even if they suck)!

Super Rape

I honestly seriously hate this serious, it really unrealistic and even for fiction its bad. What person or persons would fall in love with someone that blackmails them and rapes them all the time. Every chance morinaga got he wanted to rape souchii . Its like the dude was sick in the head. I say it unrealistic cause i have gay male friend. and even in his opinion its bad. No one male or female would ever fall for anyone that would rape them constantly. I dont see why people love this. Cause i believe if you love this ,then something wrong. The end of story didnt end well at all. Moringa left souchii , and they both stay in to different prefecture in japan. So i dont see them as lovers. I see them as friends with benefits. Except one enjoys it more, just cause a person comes, are get hard does not mean there enjoying it .. People get rape a lot times and either or i spoke about before happens. i just seriously hated this one. She a great artist, and the some comedy was cool. But sex parts, excuse me rape parts were seriously annoying . Oh wait i forgot in volume 4.1-4.7 where masaki rape ,morinaga brother while he was chain, I justed wanted to take my pc and throw it against the wall. Come on come on, i guess yall love that too. the dude was serious he wanted to get hell out, oh and then she wrote and made him fall in love with masaki . I just think the author was have serious lusty wants , or did some weed when she tranlated on paper.

I was hoping to like this, but the fact that the first sex act between the two characters is rape that leads to romance was too much for me. The characters both recognized that it was rape. While it was going on, Morinaga felt that he shouldn't continue, and Tatsumi was helpless to say yes or no, because of a drug he had unknowingly imbibed. Yet it happens, Tatsumi shoves Morinaga away with all his might...and then thinks "oh, my, I miss the fellow who knew about my traumatic experience with a gay man in the past and who raped me when I was helpless and unconsenting" and tries to bring him back. Not only that? but Morinaga claims that the rape was partly Tatsumi's fault for being too close and having drunk the aphrodisiac (not knowing what it was). Rape is never the victim's fault, you asshole.

I don't see how this relationship can be romantic or happy when I want to punch Morinaga's face in every time I see him, and when I want to get Tatsumi to a victims' counseling center. The second sex incident was another case of dubious (if not outright non-) consent, with Morinaga playing on Tatsumi's fears of losing his best friend by blackmailing him into having sex. In fact, both characters acknowledge that it's a form of blackmail, and that if Morinaga weren't holding it over him, Tatsumi wouldn't consent. It wasn't sexy or hot or anything.

I'm very disappointed, because I liked and sympathised with Morinaga in the prequel, and I was hoping that this manga would be more about the two of them coming to a romantic understanding while helping Tatsumi move past his traumatic experience.

This was the most disgusting manga I've ever read. Rape is in no way something "fluffy" or "cute." If you thought this was good, then I suggest you really think about what you just read. Don't just read manga and let it pull you around by the nose. Think about what you're reading and question things.

You want some manga that is entertaining, consensual and has a better plot than the whole mess this manga is? Well, I suggest you try Honto Yajuu, Konbini-kun, Kimi Note or even Kanjou Spectrum (though it's just Shounen-Ai). Just.. do yourself a favor and read anything but this. Don't let the ratings fool you.

And to the commenter above me: really? You're REALLY saying rape is okay as long as it's once and the rapist considers not going dry into the poor guy? World of a difference that makes... Oh wait, it doesn't. The other person was still raped. And let me remind you, this is a manga, AKA a work of fiction, and the sheer fact that this mangaka thought it was pretty rational to have her characters be that stupid to be blackmailed by something like that is her genius at work. Manga ≠ real life and this mangaka tends to always go very far from realistic reactions. But the issue here is that of her making rape seem okay is what's wrong. You should never feel that way no matter if it's a work of fiction or real life events.

White the art of the manga is stunning, I still cannot get past the reality of the situation by which I mean rape. It disturbs me that the behavior Morinaga displays is very similar to how I would imagine a normal guy who doesn't realize he's committing rape would be: constantly looking for justification for his actions and "interpreting" the meanings of the other person to suit his wants. Perhaps I'm being too brazen since I am in the midst of the world of yaoi where student-teacher relationships are A-okay...

Sigh. It's just awful to think that this attitude is being encouraged. A completely despicable act. This manga is in poor taste.

5/5/13
Haaa, I don't know what to say. Maybe reading yaoi has lowered my moral code, but I recognize that Morinaga is a very caring character and he has his own flaws too. That's the thing about manga; it's written to build up the drama and angst that you don't encounter in your own life. Having given the story a chance, I do admit it's good.

after 2 volumes, i was getting bored and decided to give up this manga... :-(, one person chasing over another one desperately in such a long long time, and there's no clue of a mutual relationship, the senpai treats the poor black hair one (forgot his name) cruelly like a dog, i don't understand at all... . where's the man's pride?
