Absolutely loved the part where he kissed her in the meadow. Thought it was great. I couldn't believe that he shot her with the arrow though, and I wanted to slap him when he almost killed her at the last chapter but didn't, and how he couldn't figure out whether to trust her or not. Gosh, it was good.
Oh, no. I'm rambling but oh well. This is a definite must read!!!!!!

The first chapter was exactly what the genre tags promised - comedy, fantasy, romance. It was really cute, and her art's always nice to look at. Though I must say I winced just a bit when she pulled out a magic sword, complete with the whole magical girl get-up. That's typical Tanemura.

And then halfway through chapter two, it switched into high drama, with a great big twist. I mean, really, chapter two and it's already this dramatic? What happened to comedy? I definitely want to find out what happens next, though, and hope it returns to some semblance of normality.

edit; With the release of chapter 4, I stand corrected! Looks like it's moving along nicely, maybe even too quickly. So much has happened within just four chapters.

Like sunnysun said, I'm not expecting much from Tanemura either, but I'm mostly in it for the art. lol.

When I saw Sakura go all fantasy on us, I immediately thought, "Oh look, it's KKJ all over again, but this time, she's pulling a sword out of nowhere."

Her heroines always seem to be the innocent little girls that were lonely, needed a person to talk to, and have a past where it's all full of drama.

Also, like sunnysun said, I think Tanemura is going pretty dramatic with her newer mangas. Like the end of SDC, the last few chapters were like, "How did that happen? I thought this was supposed to be a real-life high school girl...not a girl jumping off cliffs, surviving, and getting shot without getting seriously injured." ...but I won't go into it.

I just hope this manga will get better, though.

The main character is Maora/Haine/Mitsuki/Kyoko. Or just Maora with longer hair. The main dude is Shizumasa/Takanari all over again. Typical arinachi :L
@tingster7: I agree. Her art's getting better but all her characters look too similar. Heck, if you get every one of her female lead characters and switch their hairstyles I don't think anyone else would notice the difference 😀

The plot is alright but pretty much cliche (she's back to fantasies LOL). Since it' only been a few chapters you can't really say it's crap or fantastic yet. There's prolly going to be some totally random twist out of the blue sooner or later, like in all her other mangas.

She needs a change of writing style.

Ugh...Sorry to you all Arina Tanemura-sensei fans, but as much as I may love her art...her stories are always so TRITE. =____=
Always, there is a pure heroine, who has some kind of painful past. Really, is she only good for writing those kinds of stories? It's always way too dramatic. I've read a lot of manga, but her stories are really always the same one way or another.

I thought I was the only who noticed and complained about her art. But as windshadow mentioned, it's been a long time, and the characters' faces look the same as always...it doesn't matter if she changes the hairstyles, cuz the eyes and face are the exact copy of another character she draws. And not only that, she loves long haired girls. Really. Something new perhaps? When she draws the hair, she always makes it different length. You can see from the part where "aoba-sama" pulls her off the tree, that her hair is extremely long in that scene. But in the next few, her hair is shorter. Oh yeah, and even if her art has improved a lot since her debut days, I would like to say that sometimes, the body structure is kinda awkward...yes I remember reading one of her sidebars that she likes a heroine "with curves and boobs," but I mean, sometimes, it's TOO curvy that's it's impossible in real life. Well, that's just one of my pet peeves because I like people to be drawn proportionately and realistically. (PS, I don't like the way she draws the hands. I think she did a better job with hands in Fullmoon)

Anyways, like sunnysun says, I'm not expecting much either. But hey, anyday, she might make the story a little different from the others. (tho who am i kidding)

I wouldn't recommend it if you're not into the magical girl genre...and even then, I think this is one of the worst. Her KKJ was much better than this. Well maybe I'm just biased because I've long graduated from reading magical girl stories, and especially from shallow manga with little or no character development. But that is just my opinion.

Like what sunnysun mentioned, it's like her writing style took a drastic transformation in the middle of shinshi. Still, this round it feels like she's trying out the magical girl genre again.

As usual, the cliche shoujo elements are seen in this story and well, honestly, i'm hoping Arina would give us a good twist this round..

One thing though, though the art is good as usual, i really dislike the main character's costume. Not to mention, she seriously needs to work on getting new faces, it's been more than 10 years and the faces of her characters are still the same!!! Sigh. Still, i'm hoping that this would be good.

Update: Okay. This is so giving me the Kyoko/KKJ vibes. I loved KKJ, back then, it seriously hooked me onto her stuff, i recall buying her books (Fullmoon, Shinshi etc) off the shelves without even reading the synopsis back then.

But it's been ages, she needs to seriously develop her characters and plot. Pure girl saves the world may work once or twice but all the time ?! Overkill ! I'm putting this on hold till someone convinces me it's worth my time.

I can't say where this series is going or how good it will be, but so far, it has the typical super-cute Arinacchi art style, immediate romance, and the mix of Arinacchi predictable/unpredictable plot twists. If you're a fan of shoujo fantasy or of Arinacchi, this will probably be right up your alley.

Not really sure what to expect. Her other newer works were kinda disappointing to me. It was like she took a complete transition of writing style during the middle of shinshi doumei cross. I'll keep reading this is to see. Maybe my mind would change. Not planning to expect too much from this since it is a bit too shoujo in the beginning already.

Edit: Read up to chapter 6 and gave up...extremely disappointed

Arina Tanemura seems to be doing more action packed mangas as apposed to more shoujo-y ones. But i think she's going back to making girls have magical powers, yay! I love her heroines cuase they aren't cheesy and don't say some stupid incantations to transform. xD. The story was little confusing due to too much info stuffed in 1 chapter, but the mood is very light hearted and comical. And I have to say, the ending was pretty funny. I can't wait to read more!
