Boooooooring

Premise started of good enough but the pacing is so slow I forget what the story is all about by the time a new chapter comes out. Then I remember that the story has been pretty shit for the last couple of years of this novel's existence. Dropping it from my reading list.

Embarrassingly juvenile

This novel does one thing that's sort of original: The protagonist was not a Japanese high school student or NEET before reincarnating. Instead he was an...incredibly vague "agent" of some sort. Probably kept vague because that's something completely outside of the writer's own experience. But that's not important. What *is* important to know is that the protagonist is a super bad-ass, something the author will insist on reminding the reader at every possible opportunity.

Sadly, this one piece of originality really only makes the story worse, not better. Even though the protagonist is reincarnated into a fantasy world he knows nothing about there's shockingly little character growth or development. He already knows how to do everything and his beliefs are never even challenged. In fact the way he interacts with everyone else is downright condescending. But they never resent him for it. In fact they seem to love him for it...except for the villains, of course, but they are all so weak they feel like comic relief.

Yes, this is another serious case of OP protagonist, only here his OPness seems to all be attributed to him being a bad-ass before he even reincarnated. In other words, outside of the actual story. Sorry but that's just bad writing. Heck we're even supposed to believe that he picks up magic instantly and without any effort despite being from a world without any magic. He's got a bad-ass imagination or some bullcrap. Sure.

Everything else is completely paint-by-numbers. It's all been done better before. Magic abilities traditionally considered useless until the protagonist proves that everyone else in the history of the world was just doing it wrong? Check. Rescuing slaves that inevitably fall in love with him? Check. Stupid cooking interludes where the protagonist introduces everyone else to Japanese cuisine and it's treated like the greatest invention in the history of their civilization? Check. (Serious pet peeve of mine here. Japanese food is fine but these web novel authors really need to get out more and realize there are many other delicious kinds of food in the world...) Antagonists that serve little to no purpose in the story other than to give the protagonist a chance to show how bad-ass he is? Check. Everyone who is not an antagonist instantly showering the protagonist with love and admiration? Check.

In short it's just another badly written power fantasy. Except it's not even a good power fantasy because the protagonist is so hard to identify with.

A Good New Plot Story

Although it was confirmed not exactly as unique like the usual fantasy world and reincarnation stuff. It views a lot of new looks and ideas. It shows what new ideologies and plots should be added. I'm currently waiting for the Volume 5.

Just a copy cat

Well, it may seem the story is good, but the author just picked the general "reincarnated in a fantasy world" plot we are so used to. The writing is extremely poor, if you compare to other novels such as Mushoku Tensei, for instance. Except the main protagonist all characters lack depth, almost at every interaction you have the feeling that they`re just innocent kids who does not think for themselves. Honestly there are a lot of better novels out there, just skip this one.

So far really good

So far this has been really good. I find the 'other world' to be similar to other fantasy worlds, but as we're only 12 chapters in we haven't seen much of it. As currently new chapters are only being translated one per month, I would put this on your 'on hold' list until either a lot more chapters are translated or the translation speed picks up. I'll try and keep this updated with my current feelings of the series.

This is a interesting read so far the mc is pretty interestng he does not mind to kill which i find awsome he is not a a spineless mc. The world that he lives in hasn't been divided into yet only read up to chapter 9 so far. His parent in the reincarnted world he is in are a mystery for 4 to 6 chapters which i liked. Spoiler
I like how the magic he uses is magic he made himself though not original still cool skills
