I love how our heroine, Sasha, has super empathy and she has earned her spot in society (even without the ML’s and Rebecca’s/Crown Prince’s fiancée’s help). However since her job involves a lot of therapy wa-wa stuff and seeing nobles literally use Sasha as a punching bag, I respect the author’s choice to show us only a snippet of her ability. After that she does become quite Mary-Sue-esque since everyone just falls in love with her cuteness though.
The golden parts of this story are honestly the relationships of Sasha with the side characters, Rebecca and Naska. Both characters are severely flawed when she first meets them. To Rebecca, who is near her breaking point with jealousy & stress, Sasha is her love at first sight, a breath of fresh air. And to Naska, who doesn’t understand humanity, Sasha grows on him and becomes the reason he learns to love humanity. They have a lot of interactions as the story goes on and it is so interesting to see their POVs of the relationship. I could easily see this going the GL route or even polyamory route with how well the author fleshed out these relationships.
There is very little romance between Sasha and the ML, Arth. He’s too busy scheming to really spend time having a heart-to-heart with Sasha. I don’t think he truly knows anything about her since she never tells anyone anything. Sasha always just uses her isekai book knowledge & her charm to get what she wants. In that sense she is definitely a strong heroine, but it means that Arth doesn’t get as much time to shine. I do think Arth is as flawed as the other 2 (Rebecca & Naska) but it isn’t really shown as much since he’s basically the mastermind behind the entire plot.
And that leads me to the plot: it’s too easy. The author is even self-aware enough to say it’s too easy. Arth is way too smart and has way too much influence. He can basically do anything he wants with the empire and everyone listens to him. While I appreciate how much effort was put into the plan that made it easy for us to follow along, I wish we had more insight into Arth’s relationship with Sasha. We only get maybe one measly little panel that shows how their pasts intertwine, and that’s it. The rest of their relationship is basically Arth buying stuff for Sasha or them working together for his schemes.
I think the art is well done there are just some instances where it took me put of the story, because of chibi-ness and weird proportions. Overall the story and the characters are all beautiful.
