Wow!! This was fantastic! Definitely one of my favourites!! The art was beautiful too!!
I have a softspot for romances told from the ML’s POV, and he was scheming, a regressor, had manners and basic human decency (eg understanding consent and showing respect) and a rizzler?? Double awesome. Plus, the FL was a baddie who was able to figure out the truth on her own with some help. Plus, an expert martial artist. The main couple was so healthy and cute, especially the way they supported each other while navigating conflicts 😭😭
The empress’s (Ya’s) character was also very endearing, but her ending was very bittersweet. It’s really too bad about the previous emperor. But I feel like they had used the trope of a dead character haunting the main characters VERY well in this manhua.
I do wish that the side characters were expanded on a little more though. Would have liked to learn more about the empress (Ya), general situ, as well as the general’s friend (FL’s father’s student). Especially the green haired general’s friend, he was a major plot hole with a lot of wasted potential.
About the ending:
I wish they at least show a future with Ya doing heroic deeds, the emperor having children, stories of them being told among commoners, changes in the classes and her ascent as a queen. Even with plot holes, missing parts, its a decent story. I wouldn’t exactly see is as a male shoujo, but more towards male lead was able to correct some wrongs through generations and to mature
