Thanks for the interest! I'm looking to recruit one person to clean debound scans for a small group (one scanner/translator, one editor, one project at a time). Cleaning consists of rotating, cropping, leveling, and cleaning stray dirt (no redrawing); this must be done in Photoshop, as the cleaned psds will then be sent to the editor. Note that all raws will be scanned by me; we don't work with public raws. Both myself (the scanner/translator) and the editor have been scanlating for years, but neither of us really enjoy the cleaning step.

The plan is to do projects one at a time and release by the volume. The rate would be a volume every 1-2 months or so; we'd need a chapter (~40pgs) cleaned every 1-2 weeks. This will be a laid-back endeavor: if anyone needs to take a break for whatever reason, the next volume just gets delayed.

Our first project is Shikou Shounen (2 volumes). The three of us (myself, the editor, and the new cleaner) will pick the next project as we get close to finishing the current one. I own a dozen or so potential future projects (most are 1 or 2 volumes long; the longest is 6 volumes). They're obscure (not scanlated, unlicensed) works that are completed in Japan. The genres are dark/psychological, tragic, supernatural, and/or just plain weird (mostly josei/seinen drama, but I have a few amazing atypical shoujo works). I avoid manga that are ecchi/fanservicey or focus on romance. The manga I own (potential projects) are thematically similar to manga I worked on for my old group: Omae ga Sekai o Kowashitai Nara, Coelacanth, Dawn Tsumetai Te, K no Souretsu, Sorayume no Uta, Shokugyou Tenshi, Motto, Ikitai..., Zion, Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan, Doll Star, and Kizu (KIYOHARA Hiro). If you like some of those manga, you'll probably like the potential projects I have smile But, I am open to doing other manga (besides the ones I own) if they fit my criteria (i.e., obscure, similar genres, HQ raw source).

If you're interested, or have questions, please toss me an email at kalendel at I'll send you a few of my scans for you to clean as a test. I don't mind if you're in other scanlation groups, but I'd prefer someone who has scanlation experience. Due to the themes that pop up in josei/seinen, I'd prefer someone over the age of 18 (not that anything's smutty, but some are very dark). Thanks for reading!
