Perversion and being open are not mutually exclusive definitions. You can be both, some of each, or none of it. America is NOT open about sex and nudity in general, let alone variations of it, and if you think Americans can't get as perverted as people from other countries you are living under a rock.

What stands as the quintessential model for "missionary" sex is subjective. Anal sex with your spouse wrong? Most probably wouldn't think so or care. Just don't tell anyone where they can prove that you do, or you may spend some time in prison because you broke some sodomy laws.

In any case, every country breaks the line everywhere. America just pretends that it doesn't. Perhaps a better title, "most openly perverted country" would have been more fitting. Otherwise the vote is pretty much meaningless since for all we know, it might only be the few thousand frothing otakus churning out endless amounts of "perverted" material while nearly all Americans routinely have a threesome with a goat. And are just mum about it.

Perverseness is what set to be wrong, not right, or corrupt by the community, society, or in this case, countries. The term does not exclusively applies to sexually alone,despite the fact that it is most commonly used for anything sexual. What may be okay or right to a certain community may not be okay to another.
If it comes down to it, I'd say every country in this world is perverse. Who are we to decide which is more perverted? It's like the pot calling the kettle black. :\

My vote goes to the good ole USofA. At least in Japan high schoolers still listen to thier parents and there is less emphasis on sex before marrige.
In the US, a girl getting pregnant in high school doesn't make any one flinch,(at least untill they make a pact and get national attention), and a guy who is still virgin when hes 17 is the laughingstock of the school. And what country do these breast revealing shirts and skirts come from? USA. Thongs? USA

I think I read somewhere that the USA imports more Japanese porn than the Japanese sell in thier own country too.... Haven't you read. sex amomng teenagers is rising in Japan, and the age they experience their first sexual encounter keeps dropping aswell. Not that that has much to do with the topic on hand. Also on the porno deal. Porn over there in Japan is censored. And who wants to watch censored porn. No one I think. So then there has to be a black market for this stuff, right. I'm just assuming but if there is, I imagine none of those sales get reported. That and they've got more outlets for porn. Hentai manga, doujin, anime, hostess bars of every kind. Also, prostitution, although they say its illegal, as long they ain't got a pimp no ones going to give a damn.

I think the more reserved and less prone to physical contact with eachother a countries culture is the more of the darker side of perverion your likely to see. It's like never letting a child have sweets, when they grow up they are more likely to over indulge in them.
Keep in mind it wasn't long ago that french kissing was considered perverted. So we need to redefine whats considered perverted.
The United States is leaps and bounds behind most other countries in it's open ackowledgment and real acceptance of differant sexualities and desires.
We still see the naked human body as something only to be seen in art or the bedroom with the lights out and when we do see it in mags like playboy it's doctored until its no longer real. I find it ironic that we are suppose to be an advanced country but we are way ahead of most in cases of teen pregnancy and sexual crimes like rape or pediphilism.

I'm going to play my role and blow a small hole in your statement. The reason rape and pedo crimes seem so high in the states is because the ones who are the victims of said crimes actually report them, or other people do it for them.

Also, as an aside, the states don't have female only buses or trains. I don't know how big a problem women getting groped and whatnot it takes for that to happen, but Japan certainly has them.

I believe one or two other people also said the same thing. Sex and perversion aren't mutually exclusive. You can certainly have one without the other. Japan is a shining example of that.
