Lol
I mean there is no way the 2D will love him back, unless someone starts to create a real computer AI (not the crap that has been created) and gives the 2D characters the ability to agree or disagree (love = the mad release of things like endorphin, etc) so AI can't feel love... maybe simulate it -- errrr anyway, just think about it >> 😲

The thing is, can he actually say that he really loves this 2-D character? I just don't think is possible for you to be in love with someone who you haven't interacted with; it just doesn't make sense.

People can be in love or at the very least feel some connection to an non-interactive image. Hasn't anyone felt a crush or intrigue with a tv/book/manga/other character? Oh and LOL at new poll... AWESOME 🤣

But isn't that merely lust? Many people can feel attracted to others based on their looks but it still isn't love.

I am no longer interested in three dimensions. I would even like to become a resident of the two-dimensional world.

People like that need to get a rip on reality. That kind of escapism is clearly excessive, and is a clear sign that he needs to get out more.

This kind of love is superficial and shallow, as many women in anime/manga do not have well-developed personalities and are generally unremarkable, if their looks aren't factored in. You'll never be able to have a loving and fulfilling relationship with a 2-D girl, and there's also the issue of whether the 2-D girl you want to marry would consent to it. Even though I find some girls in anime and manga attractive, like Hinagiku and Haruhi, I would never want to marry them.

The 2D girl was created by the imagination of someone. So, he doesn't love the girl, he loves this person's imagination. If he wants to marry someone, he should marry the mangaka... It's like marrying an actor/actress just because he/she acted as a character you like a lot.
As well, no personality can be totally explained in a manga, unless this mangaka is some kind of Shakespeare or Jane Austen (which he probably isn't).

WTF? Even if it gets approved then what will happen if there are lots of people that want to marry a same character? Don't tell me that they will let a manga character to have a polygamy... 😐

That doesn't mean that if you really believe you can do something you would be able to do it. An example: if you really believed you could fly and jumped from a plane without a parachute you would still get spattered.

Just because you believe something or in something genuinely doesn't mean you can control matter or the laws of physics.
There are people with neurological disorders, mental illness and just plain crazy people who believe in all kinds of things quite genuinely, but even so do you see anyone having super powers in real life? Sure you have loads who claim to talk to spaceships, Elvis, Elvis in a spaceship, etc, etc, see the future, talk to the dead and see the future while talking to the dead but are those claims credible?

True, you can condition your mind to an extent but trying to live in the 2D world would be a stretch... Err my point, I don't think you can justify those few hard core otaku's dreams with "mind over matter". They probably have a real illness if they are serious, or are looking for attention in a very wrong way.

Edit: And how the hell does this work anyway? Multiple people will want to get married to the fictional character. I guess they want to get married to a perticular drawing, which basically means getting married to paper, which basically means getting married to inanimate objects.

Edit#2: For those who don't believe this 2D marriage thing was proposed for real just read this:

Yeah. I forgot about that. If the character is a female, it is polyandry while if the character is a male, it is polygyny. Care to discuss about group marriage or same sex marriage? Hell, this issue will just go on forever then... 😐

Warn: Banned

Takashita says he feels more at ease in the "two-dimensional world."

He said: "I am no longer interested in three dimensions. I would even like to become a resident of the two-dimensional world.

This person needs to be in a mental hospital. He's obviously suffering from delusions of the mind. We need to give him electro shock and lobotomy to cure him. 😲
