I have a question, since it is just an arrangement of colors and lines, what is the sex of a 2-d character? Though I suppose this line of questioning is irrelevant since if the petitioners thought this way they would not want to marry them anyway.

Also what is the purpose of creating such a law, except to force people to recognize the legitimacy of loving something that is not a person. With that in mind though, where is the line drawn? Will one day japanese demand to marry a stapler that is particularly sexy?

As much as 2-D characters are fine and tempting.
3-D's would be the way to go.

The 2-d character would never love them back so why the heck would they want to marry them? And the character has no say in the matter! >:-(
