Ah, I guess that's true. What I wrote were just silly and very simplified generalizations. Either way I think it comes down to about half and half...ish. (actually... if you want to take it further (I don't suppose anyone does, but here goes anyway) I could see seinen as another category that attracts a large number of female readers, due to its wide variety of subject matter (as well as the limited availability of josei titles))

i had a hard time between shoujo and josei.....I picked shoujo because I read more of it....I regretted because I think I like Josei more......wish there was more because I would not have made that mistake TT_TT

In any case, I don't have any idea why hentai would add itself specifically to Seinen, and not Josei or really any of the other demographics. You're basically just taking a huge jump in logic needlessly. It's already like this, just leave it how it is, even if the only real demographics are shounen, shoujo, seinen, and josei (actually, we should have kodomo in there as well...)

hentai can be argued though, seinen is just violence and anger while hentai is just... porn. they kind of go hand in hand sort of but in terms of explicitness hentai is always explicit where seinen sometimes doesnt have people die or get hurt for a chapter or so.

Most of the Hentai people would go to seinen.

Josei is the female counter part of Seinen... and in my eyes both are pretty much the same, I don't know why they split it like that, is not like the content is any different, just that the lead is a girl >_>

Japs categorize too much

If there is realism, not sugar pop plots and you can actually be sure that the chances of a happy ending are not 100%, is a Seinen/Josei.

Shoujo the plots are usually good and there are several spins, but regardless of that, it can't beat the human side of Seinen/Josei, I mean that Seinen/Josei plots are imperfect (MAYURI IS RIGHT IMPERFECT THINGS ARE A WIN) and thus in Shoujos you can sometimes guess the ending from the start >_>

Shounen cliches that many people love and like, and I am one, but Plot wise are not a must read.

Yaoi, I have hear that its plots are quite good and sometimes can match the best Seinen/Josei out there, BUT gay love is not something that I like to read >_>

and so I still stand, in the next poll just make it with those 4 🙂 and lets see how the vote goes in that one
