Seinen is far more likely to have violence than Josei. And demographics are more a point of 'target audiences.' Although I am stereotyping, an adult woman is more likely to read a romance with a heroine who overcomes great obstacles and shit, rather than a historical piece about a samurai that hacks people up.

The only way they are the same is that they are both aimed at 18+ readers.

You really haven't read much of both, have you?
There's a subtle difference between them.

For example, I've noticed that Josei people like the
odd manga that goes about the daily life of a cute
cat or puppy, something that 18-30+ women would enjoy more.

so we can agree that Seinen/Josei is manga aimed at adults regardless of their gender?

I know a lot of guys that LOVE Josei cough Claymore cough, and a lot of Girls that like Seinen more than the Josei, so the Japanese logic is FULL of flaws, just because the lead is a girl that means the only people that will read it are females?, and just because the manga is about a samurai that hacks people doesn't mean the girls won't like it.

with a lot of guys I mean 9 and a lot of girls I mean 16

EDIT: Oh yeah the ones about pets overcoming troubles is also Josei... ok scratch that, only 7 of the males I mentioned are into Josei that much.

First off, Claymore is shounen. Look at the magazine it's serialized in. That's what determines the target demographic, not the content.

These are merely target demographics, it should be obvious that seinen manga isn't supposed to appeal solely to males over ~18, or that shoujo to girls under 16. It's natural that people will have different tastes and like different things, you're delusional if you honestly believe that it's intended to be flawless.

There is nothing wrong with Josei (that I know) and I was talking with the words of other people... BIG mistake, if you are going to an argument, better go with your own words, anyway I am already fixing that.

There's way too many good choices in this poll. It's hard for those of us who read and love several types. I had to choose yaoi but my favorite type of yaoi is shotacon. I also really wish I could've chosen shoujo, yuri, and hentai. We should have a poll where you can choose up to 3 or something.

shoujo! I read so much of it ho could i not vote for it? 🙂 i read a bunch of 'josei' titles too, but the ones i read usually are published in shoujo magazines so i still sort of consider them shoujo 😛

I voted for shonen-ai, that contains less pornography scenes than yaoi.

if shonen-ai and yaoi were out of the list,maybe i vote Seinen instead.Obviously,Yaoi is taking the win.That's neither sad, nor happy though.Depends on the fans.
