Ouran HIgh School Host Club is a great anime, and my favorite shoujo ever.
The manga, while it wasn't bad, and it did depict characters in more detail, I thought wasn't focused enough. It didn't really hold my attention so well, and if I hadn't seen the anime I would have thought it was a mediocre series.

I was really looking forward to the anime of Yamanade, but it was dissapointing. , It kept reminding me of the Ouran HIgh School Host Club anime-A little *too *much.
And Sunako-Chan's voice was all wrong 😢
(But at least they kept the bishounen pretty)

And of course, the english dub of Naruto. I think we all know why.
I like the anime of Pita ten better than the manga. Goodness, don't ask me why.

Sometimes, I prefer the anime of xxxHoLic to the manga.

Gantz- If you've only ever seen the anime like most people than I could see why people like it so much. But once you get a whiff of the Young Jump classic than the anime seems extremely shallow and annoying (more so in the dub).

Kurozuka- sigh I expected better from the director of the Death Note anime.

Naruto- No explanations needed. 😔

Anime>Manga

Eureka Seven- Take away all the magic and action that made the anime great and you get a shallow cliche love story.

Darker than Black- See above for reasons why

Neon Genesis- Not really bad, but it will never be as good as the anime.

Are you talking about the anime whose plots are not much different from manga but are better as manga?

Anime to manga adaptation is another story. Sometimes they don't even share the same plots or main characters so they are not really comparable.
