Because they're living humans. The only reason Ichigo became a Shinigami was because Rukia gave him her Shinigami powers. And he got his own Shinigami powers through brutal training with Urahara. Unless Karin or Yuzu got through the same training, they won't become Shinigami (not while they're alive).

I was wondering.... if Ichigo is a Vizard does that mean his father is one too? That's why he got the hollow inside him?

Ichigo became a Vizard because of the training Urahara gave him. Ichigo lost his reiatsu abilities and to gain them back, Urahara cut the chain that linked him to his body. The chain eats itself (?) and becomes shorter and shorter, and normally, when it's up to the person, the person gets a hole and becomes a hollow. Ichigo became a hollow but not fully, but he got his shinigami powers back. So he was a Vizard (a Shinigami-hollow)

I think one of the reason Ichigo had the hollow (and then became a vizard) is the fact that he is a human. He became a shinigami by force, not in a natural way as other shinigami. I'm thinking that it was some sort of consequence for a human. So you could say that a human who forces himself to become shinigami is a natural vizard.
