hi, i`m a young kid who loves old school anime, especially shounen anime. i remember running straight after school with my brothers when i was 5, to watch my favorite animes on toonami. i use to worship toonami, even during commercial breaks, i absolutely LOVED watching the promos [ remember them, like broken promise? ] the shows i loved were:

  • outlaw star
  • yuyu hakusho
  • gundam wing
  • sailor moon
  • cyborg 009
  • ronin warriors [ who didn`t yell "armor of wildfire!" ]
  • big o
  • zoids
  • rurouni kenshin
  • dragonball
  • tenchi muyo
  • igpx [ everyone hated it, i loved it ]

does anybody remember any other good shows?

and the promos were so cool! like broken promise [ if you haven`t seen it, you must! ]

but now, toonami sucks so much! the only good thing on there [ for me ] is one piece. and naruto runs toonami, and i hate naruto. but i still hear people saying "toonami now is sooo cool". am i the only one who remembers the good ol` toonami days? am i the only one who loves the good toonami days when i was just 6 years old?

I know exactly what you mean. They actually had shows that didnt SUCK! and also, Outlaw star was adult swim, not toonami. Same iwth Big O

But yes, i agree, Old > new. In both cases.

I too, would run home(well, run inside) after school when i was 5ish just to watch ronin warriors. And yes, i admit, i screamed ARMOR OF WILDFIRE!!! a good fair share of times, and i still do, cause even now, Samurai troopers/Ronin warriors is Fucking awesome.

Sailor moon, i dont remember why i watched it, but i did. Outlaw star i remember watching that, Same with all of them. And i hated Igpx, but i couldnt stop watching it, same with Zoids. Also, BS06 i never got the chance to see.

Outlaw Star was on Toonami. I don't remember it on Adult Swim. Big O was on both. I remember Thundercats, Roboot, i think Voltron was on there. I remember when Moltar was the host before they got Tom. I liked Moltar better.

Deal. Send me your address, what you want, and the money to buy it with 🤣
I just remembered Card Captors being on there, along with 08th MS Team which, imo, was one of the best Gundam shows, even though it was only 7 or 8 eps.

Also, does anyone else remember this happening? During an episode of Outlaw Star, Jim had Gene in his hands cause he had been shot. He looks at his hand (with nothing on it cause it was edited) and says "Wha-what the hell is this, Gene??" I thought it was an awesome slip. 🤣

You guys better talk nice, or this thread goes down

As for being on topic...I've never had cable TV, so the only times I've watched Toonami was in a hotel or at the house of a friend

Robotech is the reason I mess with anime/manga today.

Here's a site that has all the shows that have ever been on toonami, as well as their promo commercials, and those music video they used to make.

The heaviest walk down memory lane.

that`s where i watch all my promos, i love that website!

i kinda wanna watch all those anime again, because i kinda didnt get it when i was little.....but the action was cool and they didnt censor everything! now theres no more blood, or even guns! thats so dumb.

OMG! i know. They even have petitions to stop animu because "It's so violent" and "My kid copied narotu and died". Instead of that being animus fault, i think its more of the parents fault

If you dont know what im talking about, Go to this website and youll know what i mean. and since i like to explain halfway, ill tell you what i mean anyways.

I'm referring to what happened about 6 months ago when a kid was playing in the sand, and to copy gaara or whoever, Got his friends to bury him in the sand. Now, when his arms were flailing and he was gasping for breath, His friends thought it was all part of the act. So, instead of the parents blaming themselves for NOT WATCHING THEIR KIDS They decided to blame the show instead.

you've gotta love the american media >.>

and reboot was easily the best show in that time period

However, some do speculate that this was not an accident of a f*cking retarded kid, but instead a plot by Codey's "friends." It was rumored that Codey was used as a sacrifice by his friends in order for them to obtain the Mangekyo Sharingan. His friends wanted the Magenkyo Sharingan so bad that they killed Sandmastah, their close friend.

Still laughing.

How could you forget Moltar? I bet he turned over twice in his molten lava hibernation because of that.

Moltar was the jump-off. Tom-2 came close.

:-( I didn't forget Moltar! I mentioned that a Space Ghost character was the first host. I just couldn't remember the right one. AND I think Space Ghost actually was before Moltar.
