Thanks Kasia! Now people are going to look at me funny when I say Babchia. Wheee!

Haha, I've been getting those looks for years, they make life way more interesting~!!! 😉

Indeed they do, I'm trying to learn Japanese.

Japanese is a blast to learn, I really enjoy it! I have friends all over Japan (most of which I met in NYC), and they've helped me out a lot. Add me to msn and I'll help you however I can, alright? ;D
I don't have MSN or I would. My trouble is particles... >:-( mean things.
Haha they're not so bad. I assume you mean wa, ga, etc.? I can't think of a good way to explain them, there are so many and they all have different uses........ I never really learned their rules, I just got a feel for the language and went with it, haha. My friends all say that's the slow way to learn, but that's okay...

Quote from Dr. Love

had to look up what pig Latin was

Example: Banana ==> Anana-bay

That's the common version. There are two others.

Shoos Dr. Love off to look it up again. 😀

Oh, you're mean.. 😀

Examples:

Button==> Utton-bay

Amsterdam==> Amsterdam-way

A whole sentence..

***"This is an example of Pig Latin. As you can see, it is silly, but sort of fun for children." ***

Translates to..

"Is-thay is-way an-way example-way of-way Ig-pay Atin-lay. As-way ou-yay an-cay ee-say, it-way is-way illy-say, ut-bay ort-say of-way un-fay or-fay ildren-chay."

I think that's all.. Right, Shattered? 😛

hopes that Shattered doesn't say to look it up again 😀

I just read that! And MAN! did I get lost!

Have you tried the "S" laguage? Or was it "G"? I forgot but my classmates were talking in "S/G" language. I was trying to figure out what they were saying. It didn't work. 😔

I only know two, English and Korean 😔

I'm jealous of all my European friends... they all know at least four different languages. I heard that most people in Europe know at least three? Any Europeans here to verify that?

I know only two (Finnish and English) but its propably that Europeans know more languages because we have to study more languages in school.

Here Finland in school person must study Finnish, English and Swedish. And then you can choose many more other languages if you want.

Yep, I live in Belgium.. and it's mandatory to learn at least three languages.. Dutch, French and English.. German and Spanish are optional..

You can also study ancient languages like Old Greek and Latin, but those are optional as well..

Since I study languages, I do German as well.. And I've also had 2 years of Greek, and 3 years of Latin..

English, French, Chinese (first, but illiterate 😢 )

Seeing that we have an international army here, I wouldn't be surprised at many members knowing at least 3 languages.

I don't think that dialects should count. But Greek and Latin, even though they're dead, probably should.

Hmmm...well a third language or fourth...is optional..French/Russian...

Languages we have to know...German...and English, of course...

I prefer English over German ;P It's way easier...German grammar is really hard...REALLY...hard...

Greek is a dead language?? That's probably news to the Greeks! 🤣

I know you probably meant ancient Greek, it just struck me as funny. 😀

Meh.

Languages technically would be 3. Chinese, English and Spanish. I know bits and pieces of Japanese and Koreans (what you get from hanging out with fobs all the time who speak mostly in their languages)

Dialects? I know Mandarin, Cantonese, English, and Spanish.

So take your pick. Mind you, Mandarin and Cantonese are completely different. Pronunciation, grammar, everything.
