languages.
English only... I'm such a loser.
I know bits of...
Spanish: (upside down ?)Me llama Nona, y tu?
French: Il fait tres frois.
Japanese: Nanji des ka? (probably spelled completely wrong, but I know what it means)
German: Vom regen in de trouphe.
Russian: Da.

@Ladycrystalite: pretty nice 😉 It's a great saying in German... but a bit wrong... "Vom Regen in die Traufe" would be the 100% correct version...

I know two languages 😮
Swedish and English 😀
Then I know bits and pieces of other languages, but I doubt I could form any coherent sentences in any of them XD

Thanks. Someone taught me how to say it. I was winging it on the spelling.

I would love to speak several; 🙁 alas I only speak Spanish and English. Little bit of Italian and basic French (what I remember from HS).
This may make me take a class as learning a new language is a window to learning about its culture and costumes.

I think you mean "Vom Regen in die Traufe".

I am disgustingly fluent in English. A side effect of reading too many books in English.
I am supposed to know Latin. Of course 3 1/2 years into the course, I still don't--and nobody but the teacher does. Sure, she may have mastered the language, but she never did learn how to teach...and immersion is impossible.
I can sometimes understand what's going on in Spanish when spoken, and half-read it when written. Not that I ever made any effort to learn it, but the area of SoCal I grew up in is roughly 60% Mexican in my age group (though the older people are overwhelmingly white, I interacted with the ones in my age group), and I was constantly surrounded by it. Still am, to a lesser extent.
So in the end, I only know one language. I want to learn a second, but deciding which to pick up...I will save for later years. I'm thinking either Mandarin Chinese, Hindi or Japanese: Major business languages. Spanish is too, but once I leave SoCal, I'd rather never hear it again; and I am unlikely to choose Mandarin Chinese because the political air between the States and them is tensing up, and I don't want to be working between them if that collapses. Nor do I want to work for the Reds anyways.
I am the God of Freedom. I am not revered, I have no shrines; and you have never before heard of me nor will you ever hear of me again.

I go away and suddenly the spammers are the mods. Okay, I can adjust to that, but... Gorath?! And what's up with Mam's not being the top poster?
