Hi,

Which seinen manga do you think is generally under rated or unknown/unheard of to the majority of manga community?

Preferably a hidden gem seinen manga which is awesome but the rating and popularity have done injustice to it.

This is a personal opinion, of course.
Ryuuguuden - I liked this story. The art's not that good and the story had a few flaws. But, I can't help but like it.

Chocolat (KUBONOUCHI Eisaku) - Former yakuza open a bakery store. What more can I say?

Saber Tiger - There aren't many chapters scanlated because it's licensed. The ones which are scanlated though are really amazing. Makes one see things in a different light.

Fushigi na Shounen I mean I can kinda see why it's unheard of, just from the description it doesn't seem that interesting, but once you read it you gotta love it. At least that's what I found.

Yuureitou Another good manga not many have heard of.

Toukyou Kushu A lot more popular than the previous ones, but still not that heard of. good read.

Kuuki no Soko and all other TEZUKA Osamu short stories. i know he's popular, but his short stories dont get as much love as it should.

Itaitashii Love not a lot of people like the sparse story telling, but i think the mangaka convey exactly what they want, no more no less.

Region is not exactly stellar, but if you love survival horror, this one will do no wrong.
FUJISAWA Yuki made a lot of these survival horror, should check him out.

Trans Venus are not liked because of the blatant hentai-ness of it, but if you want to read porn with plot, this one wont let you down.

MATSUMOTO Jiro drew quite a lot violent seinen and he's not that popular i think because of the art, but i think he is phenomenal.

Mon Seul have crappy rating solely because of the topic (pedophilia) but i think the way it is handled is good.

KATOU Shinkichi drew a lot of wierd stories with wierd morality, but i think he's pretty neat.

Mangaka Chou Zankoku Monogatari is just so funny in the way it ask the question : do you really want to be a mangaka?

Bradherley no Basha is good if you want to hate humanity.

Chang Ge Xing -amazing art and story and not many know about it

Maybe because of its artwork that ain't modern and the amount of volumes that makes you wonder "Will I ever reach the end...", I feel that this magnificent series hasn't deserved yet the attention it should have.

and... this is not seinen but shounen, but... IMHO its quality reaches seinen...
I also felt that Shokoku no Altair ain't well-known enough, eventho it's so very good.
Is it the cover that always shows Mahmut in rather feminine style -_-a?

Series by Furuya Usamaru are not well known unless you actually go looking for obscure, avant-garde stuff. His works are not everyone's cup of tea, but Marie no Kanaderu Ongaku is good even from a more mainstream perspective. A friend of mine also really liked Short Cuts though I haven't read it yet.

The Manga Box startup also has some interesting series and I suggest people check it out. I personally love Old Man Frog. Fun fact: editor-in-chief for the app is the guy who wrote Kami no Shizuku, which had a significant influence on wine importation in South Korea and Japan.

At this point, it's probably Natsunokumo. A really interesting spin on the (now-overdone) MMORPG premise. It's a very down-to-earth manga, something I've found that's a rarity in this genre (the action MMORPG genre, I mean).

Saber Tiger was the weakest of HOSHINO Yukinobu's manga, but I agree that all his titles are underrated.
Bradherley no Basha, well I guess but isn't SAMURA Hiroaki's other manga Mugen no Juunin (aka Blade of the Immortal) well known?

for my part i think KAWAGUCHI Kaiji's mangas are underrated like, Zipang and Confession (KAWAGUCHI Kaiji)

I think that Mother Sarah is relatively unknown/underrated, based on the lack of reviews - maybe because it's so old, or because the protagonist is female, or the fact that it wasn't fully published in English & it took a long time for the scanlation to be completed. The story and art are good.

Uncivilized Planet is a bit underrated I think, since it's essentially perfect at what it tries to do. But I can also understand why it wouldn't have the mass appeal of say, Asano Inio's stories, since Asano's stories are more about personal angst (and thus more relatable) while Uncivilized Planet is darker and tackles concepts rather than individual opinions.

Holy Macaroons, Uchuu Kiyoudai is defeinitely under rated outside Japan.
It's SO GOOD.

And REAL, another one of Takehiko Inoue's masterpieces.

Maybe you would consider Dosei Mansion.
I think this is a great slice of scifi life. A real sweet gem of the genre.
-Episodic character portraits with such themes as redemption and misperception.
-Moral ambiguity
-Self contained mini arcs playing out within a space station enriched by a MC coming of age

Plus, the art work is beautiful-meticulous and unique.

Also Eden - It's an Endless World! is another scifi, but on the opposite end the spectrum.
I think it's what you would more typically find in this genre: psychological, suspense, post-apocalyptic, aaaahction!
-Cyborgs, robots, military
-Minor philosophical undertone i.e. ethics and metaphysics - necessary component for a good scifi IMO

Again artwork is so intricate. A real work of art, if I do say so.

It might be on the more popular side? I'm not sure. I definitely came across it by chance ages ago and have never heard it mentioned otherwise.
