Okay I use to be all about gaming but now that I've grown up a bit I really don't need a PC with that kind of power anymore.... ^^;;; but I've always been single minded about things and hate change... Anyways which do you think is better ^^?
I only know how to work a PC.
but Macs are so pretty. 😀

I've been living in a PC world for to long I still wonder if I should update my next computer to be a PC or Mac... Just not use to the OS I guess.... to use to windows ^^;;;
The one click mouse just kills me. 🤢

I voted for PC. I'm just not use to Macs. The only Macs I use are the ones at school. They're nice and flashy, but they're just not for me. Oh, and I hate the one click mouse.

Just one question, is this a battle of hardware or operating systems? It just confuses me a bit since the options seem like they would be for operating systems because Linux isnt grouped under the PC category, but there isnt an option for Windows, so it makes it seem like hardware.
Either way I guess a PC without Linux would mean one with Windows, so that is my choice. Not that I like what Microsoft is doing at the moment, but I am waiting for the release of Windows 7 and hoping I can avoid ever having to touch Vista because it sucks. When it comes to computer I want something where I can just do it now and not have to rig anything unless its something I just feel like messing around with for the hell of it, hence I prefer Windows to Linux.
By the way, I still do hate Vista, in case I didnt make that clear. But Microsoft always makes a good operating system after they make one thats total crap, so Vista was a necessary step to motivate Microsoft to make a good OS.

This is both a hardware/OS thing ^^;;;; and I have to agree windows vista does suck ass...

i voted other, since i have yet to find a decent thing, along those lines.
I guess I'll go with Windows (XP no Vista) for software compatibility reasons. Ubuntu is pretty damn slick though. If more support for it comes I won't mind switching to linux entirely.

I think the op is a little confused as to the difference between operating system and the stuff it operates on. Theoretically there isn't even much difference 'cause Mac switched to intel, so it basically uses the same hardware-unless the op means for linux to equal custom (and well I've got a dual boot on my custom box.)
Either way I guess a PC without Linux would mean one with Windows, so that is my choice.
Actually, not quite. You can kill the OS X warranty and throw it on some other hardware (psystar and OQO sell machines running OS X).
I've played around with the ubuntu/kubuntu builds (just did a usb install this morning on my desktop), sometimes use macs at school, and have xp on all my comps-and shrugs I'm not used to mac, so it's UI (user interface) annoys me a bit-but it's clean. I like windows 'cause it's idiot proof, but that sometimes gets problematic when I get into complicate tasks. Linux is working towards idiot proof (which is good from a general public UI standpoint) but still can be annoying-but it's so much easier to do certain things ('specially write code) in linux. Plus, some of the libraries I need to use for some projects are only available in linux.
Dunno, I want a both option (hell, I want an all three-I wouldn't mind getting a Mac air if it wasn't so expensive/so impractical for my courses.) As for hardware-I go custom when possible (want a shiny nano itx, but will probably go for a midtower 'cause I want a multi-core motherboard.)

I've only ever had problems with macs that I didin't create myself. That is to say, if a computer running windows did a bsod on me, it was my fault alone. That has never happened to me with any windows OS except Me, once. But I have gotten mac's equivalent of a bsod many times. I am not compatible with macs nor do I like them. Ofcourse that was only on G2's, G3's and Imacs. Don't know if they made it harder to crash them since then. Bought a pc with XP and I've never looked back since.
Sarcasm just doesn't work over the internet.

PC with XP's. Macs are a bit too expensive and I don't have the patience right now to learn how to work on another system.
Vista is made out of pure fail.

I just got a vista some months ago...it's probably the worst pc i ever got...i think i'll just throw it in a trash and never look back.
back to the topic, I've been wanting to try a Mac, but i'm really afraid that i'd just never get used to it, and there's also something about how many programs and games won't run on a mac...so i'll just stick to the pc ^^

Linux sucks at programs I need to use. Mac is just weird. All hail Microsoft Windows. Hopefully the next release is better than Vista
