For me personally, the ideal is to eventually move everything over to Linux, but I have this annoying gaming habit 🤣 so I'm stuck with Windows on my main desktop (actually Vista). But between my machines, I've got everything from Xubuntu, Vista, XP Pro, WM6 (Axim), Win '98 SE (tiny old laptop), and occasionally I'll get bored/motivated/whatever, and mess around with the OSx86 project. Also looking for a good media center Linux distro, if anyone's got any suggestions 😀

pc is personal comp >_> meaning it applies to all of them.. did you mean microsoft windows? then you should change the poll..
personally i am using vista but windows have less bugs >_> die vista!!
The use of Mac Vs. PC came from the Get-a-Mac Ad.
They symbolyzed Microsoft Windows as "PC" and Mac as "Mac".
So maybe that is why it is Mac vs. PC, not Mac Vs. Windows.
By the way, you said you are using vista and windows have less bugs but you also said "Die Vista". Why?
Honestly speaking Vista got some many bugs in them. I would use Linux except some programs I need to use is not in the Linux version. And Linux is a B*tch with games I like.

Macs, hands down. Virtually virus free. Plus I've had mine for a few years and it still works just as well as when I first got it. It's easier to use, and the interface is prettier (because that's really what counts, right? XD). I know that there a lot of applications and games and whatnot that you can only get on Windows, but that's never really been an issue. I don't play games and as for applications, I've found everything I need. Like at first, I had a bit of trouble finding a good FTP application (or is it called client? idk), but after some research, I found a really good one.
so Macs FTW. ^_^

On problem with viruses is that there are about four of them out for Macs, and they all destroy your computer. Plus, if a hacker tried to hack into your computer, it's easier to compromise a Mac than a Windows.
I'm just playing devil's advocate here. Other people have been getting the Windows people for me already.

For me, it depends on the use for the computer. Mac computers are generally for work and windows is for casual use. Mac's are a little more on the creative side but i don't like how it's organized. I'd rather go for the PC though because I'm used to it, and I'm used to vista too it isn't as bad when you don't use it for games.

I use PC ever since my family brought our first computer over 9 years ago and it's the only computer we'll ever use
I used Mac in school for projects and recreation.
I read so much mangas, I'm too lazy to watch anime! 😛 😛 😛

That's what wine and vm's are for. 😉 shrugs I've got it the other way around-I have XP, but am tempted to switch to linux 'cause it plays better with the stuff I need to run.
FTP application (or is it called client? idk)
It's both-pretty much any piece of software (computer program) is an application, and any app. related to networking (which is what FTP is-setting up a connection between a comp and a server) is a client.
Also looking for a good media center Linux distro, if anyone's got any suggestions
You can do some nice things just running mythTV on any ole distro (though I think it likes the debian family-not sure).
To me MAC is weird as hell.
I'll stick with PC.

I'll admit, Linux is good with speed and processing. But I'm too lazy for all those patches and extra stuff I have to install. Vista is like a zoo of animal transfused together. It's a pile of crap, but it has everything.

Most people use Microcrap Windows because they don't know what Linux/MacOS can do for them. Used in isolation, they may think Windows is all they ever need. Same theory as to why fat chicks continue to get pregnant.
But for PC gaming, windoze is the only option, I admit.... but I prefer consoles, anyway.
BTW.... I contribute to Debian and the Gnome project, so I'm Biased towards Linux, but Microcrap still sucks either way . Using windows is like having sex with a HIV+ person.

Total bullshit. You're probably referring to the recent 'pwn2own' hacker competition where the Macbook Air got hacked first, rite. Well, did you know that Microcrap was the main sponsor of the event. Besides, the person got to keep the laptop that he/she hacked.... which means everyone would target the Macbook Air over the stupid Wintel box anyway. Unix and it's derivatives are far more secure than anything Microcrap can think of....period.

To quote Maddox, "... I'm not stylish enough to own [a Mac]".
It's true.
PC.
It's psychosomatic. You need a lobotomy. I'll get a saw.
You gonna do somethin'? Or are you just gonna stand there and bleed?

Personally I don't see much difference in Windows/OSX. I think that it's should be Corporate OS vs Open-Source OS.
I think that any OS is inherently flawed. There is code that is bad and does not do what it should, there is bugs, and errors, and a whole slew of problems that give you problems.
The reason I separate them the way I do is simply because of the motivations behind the development of those operating systems. I think that in this Corporate Closed-source software loses. You have a company that has a goal to make money. Every thing else like providing a good stable OS is secondary to the making the money part. This is the killer, because the corporation that develops these OSes don't care about the end user and there needs beyond whether they can get you to buy one and keep buying them. Microsoft doesn't have to worry because there market share is so big, they don't care, thus they can release third rate software for first rate prices and not be affected, and Mac is using the dissatisfaction that people have with Mircosoft to sell there goods. They want you to keep giving them there money, so they will do things that make it so that you do, like paying for updates to fix problems and bugs that they should be doing for free.
Open source Software is motivated by a different reason. It is developed by people that are dissatisfied by close source OSes and wanted to create a better OS. It is done by many people that are either working for very little or volunteering their spare time into developing it. They don't care about market shares, or profits. They do it for either their enjoyment, or because they need a better OS. because of this they don't care about releasing updates, or a fixing bug, filling security hole, or making the OS the best it can be. They don't care about selling extra software to fix the problems they did not, or providing features that they don't want to include. and since it is Open Source anyone has the right to change it to suit their needs, or fix a bug that someone else missed, or provide features that others didn't think of. Personally i think that as a OS none have grown faster and developed more than Open Source.
Basically I don't find much different in Windows and Mac because they are both companies out to get money regardless of the experience that their end users have to endure.
oh and macs suck, cuz, come on White, all you could get is white, Oh and black, but that is extra.
enjoyed typing this on my multi colored Intel Powered Linux Box.
