I'm looking for a place to live....
Yes, really.
I don't exactly live in Germany, but I do live in a neighbouring country. And in our region cockroaches don't exist.
I didn't know cockroaches were that prevalent in the US. o___o;

Like some other people said, DC is a good bet. Personally, I think that there are parts of DC that are safe and not safe. But, if you move to DC everything is near you, you'll have access to more commodities, and you'll live near the Pres.. What more would you want?
The weather in DC is kind of bi-polar (resident for 17 years), but rest assured that the temperature never gets below 20 F, and it only snows once or twice a year.
Also, you won't need a car since public transportation is so readily accesible. In terms of cockaroaches, they are not frequent, I've never seen any at my apartment.
The only bad thing is the cost of living: ex. A studio apartment in NW costs a thousand and the public school system is the worst in the country (send your kids to private schools).

Hm, if it comes to cockroaches in DC, my mom says they were awful when she lived there. She told stories about how when you went down to the basement of her apartment, you'd flick the light on and the floor would be covered in roaches.
They say it's the thought that counts, but then they tell you, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions......"

Well, roaches aren't prevalent everywhere, but some places - where it doesn't get cold enough in the winter to kill the roaches/eggs outdoors - you can infest your house by walking through a place where roach eggs are (dead leaves, whatever) and carrying them back to your house. My sister lived in Georgia for a while so I've heard enough stories about roaches to know that I don't want to have to deal with them. (_)

Heh...you have a point, however this is also the only place (that I'm familiar with) that I'm likely to get input from people living in a LOT Of different places. My step-sis has lived in Boston for 10 years or so, I'll have to ask her about it next time I see her (we don't meet often).

I'll be visiting the East coast (New Jersey, New York, DC, etc.) at the end of August...my first inclination is to say "eeeek big city!! O_O" but we'll see how it goes. 🤣

North Carolina.
I haven't seen roaches anywhere around here, and i have been in some pretty...bad places.
Winter is nice, but we don't get snow, and since i am a northerner, i hate that, but if you're looking to escape it, then this is good.
South Carolina is good too.
But the job market here is screwed, so it might not be a good option, all in all.
Don't go to South Carolina.
There's absolutely nothing here. Though there are never any roaches.

I bet there's more in South Carolina than there is in the state I live in right now... 🤣 Lack of roaches is good, though. 😃
